Hey everyone,
I am looking at buying an Essential Lite cabin bag, and i’m undecided about colour - I would normally just go for black but I can get it on the German Koffer24 website and its £70 cheaper than the Rimowa.com site but they only have 2 colours either Red or dark blue. Problem is I like both!
i’m also wavering on size and think I will get the smaller cabin bag does anyone know is it a big difference?

Hello, does anyone own the Rimowa Essential Trunk Plus? (https://www.rimowa.com/ww/en/luggage/colour/pink/trunk-plus/83280904.html)

My question is, the dimension is 80 x 37 x 41 cm totaling 158 cm. Most US/Canadian airlines such as UA and AC allowed a max of 158 cm in dimension for checked-in baggage. It's a bit too close. Do any of you have any experience checking in the trunk for a domestic flight within US/Canada? Do I need to pay oversized baggage fee? FYI I'm asking for the economy class passenger allowance.

Many thanks~

I’m getting the carry on end of this year. How do you like yours? And how has it held up over the years?
After having it for a while my honest thoughts: it’s not practical- it’s expensive for luggage, heavy, and damages quite easily. The first time I used my rimowas they both got dented in one way or another. That being said, I love my rimowas! imo the dents add character. Similar to h spa I like that rimowa offers repairs on their luggages. I look forward to using my rimowas for many more years

my little hybrid family (cabin & check-in L):

the check-in I’ve had for a decade now, stolen from my parents’ Rimowa collection. You can see the corners are very beat-up and dented. Some of the glue on the inside lining has come loose somehow, making a sticky mess in some areas. I asked the Rimowa storespeople why this would happen and they couldn’t offer me an explanation. Nonetheless it’s been on 30+ trips with me already and is still managing to hold up.

The cabin I got two months ago - already showing some black tar marks on the aluminum corners from the 2 trips I went on since getting it. I also got my initials heat-stamped onto the luggage tag which is fun.

Hi everyone,

I just made my first Rimowa purchase yesterday and having second thoughts. I needed two check in luggages. We’re going on a trip with the kids Dec 18th, and the last trip we came back from resulted in our luggage breaking near the wheels. We had Tumi hard case luggage for years that held up great and weren’t too heavy, but I’ve heard about Rimowa and wanted to go ahead and upgrade.

I had a few questions to you guys that have been using it for a while. I was considering going for the Original check-in L in black, but I kept being drawn back to the Original check-in L twist in the silver with brown accents. I’m worried it will stick out too much, and I’m worried it won’t last since it’s silver and might scratch and dent a lot. Which finish holds up better? The black or silver? I do love how understated the black was, but the silver looked so cool. Also I loved the way the classic looked too, but thought maybe the corners were too sharp and would be dented more too? I don’t know. I guess I still have time to change my mind and get the best option. What do you guys think? These pictures are of the one I ended up getting.

We have black but our German relatives have the classic silver. Both look great. Yes, their silver does have some dings in it (they've had it for years) but that's part of its look. I think the silver looks fine with some signs of use, a little better TBH than the black. Which is why I don't use my black check-in Rimowa on most flights.

My Rimowa trunk has been to three continents. Has a few bumps here and there but it’s still my favorite luggage. The trunk shape was particularly useful in Japan where rooms are a bit smaller than the usual so it’s hard to open regular suitcases. The trunk form helped me with that “challenge”

I have a silver camo print. It gets dinged up but looks okay. DH has a darker one (dark grey) which wears about the same. Both got dinged on their first tip out, but so would any other luggage

Hi everyone! I have this crazy idea of giving my 1.5 year old a rimowa cabin and have her start putting stickers on it of places she’s travelled. Hoping it will last her to adulthood. Right now I have a original cabin that’s 5years old that still looks really good. I never check it in always a carry on. I also have a limbo set for check in. I’m thinking of either getting her a classic cabin in silver or just giving her my original cabin, and I buy myself a new hybrid cabin in white.

I guess my big question is which one would hold up better in the long run, the original or the classic? My only concern is that the classics handles might be an issue later on.
