hello
Can someone recommend me where to send my beloved black work for a dye, the color is fading....poor bag, I love it so much!! I use it everyday!! Any good place?
It is black so it wouldn't be difficult to do it yourself IMO. Otherwise you could consult LovinMyBags.com for this. It has a Spa but I don't know if they dye bags there. Maybe another tPFer has more experience on that.

Hi Ladys,
I was hoping there might be a few of you out there that could help me with resolve the issue with the color on the corners of my Mangue work rubbing off. Does anyone have a suggestion on a simple way to fix that without sending the bag to a professional?
Thanks

That can be a problem with Balenciaga handbags. If the color is off and you can see the color of the leather inside (greyish) I don't think you can do anything about it. Most preloved bags if you notice have dirty corners. It is a wear and tear issue. I wouldn't send it for a dying job. What if the don't match the color, the difference would show more. I would leave it this way and take more care of it. I have to be too careful when using my pink ones that is why I don't use them that much or I always put then on a chair never on the floor etc. It can make your life difficult.

Hello Ladies
I bought a giant21 part time from gilt last month. After receiving it, I did not inspect thoroughly. Yesterday, I found the leather that wrapping the zipper got apart. I do not know whether it arrived like that or it came apart after using. This is my first B bag. Is this crack thing common? Now, I start to doubt the authenticity.
Here is a picture with the problem squared.
If this is not common, I will post pictures for authenticity.
Thank you.

If you are talking about the lacing, I'm pretty sure it is rather easily replaced. If you mean the edge-coating has separated and the white is showing, I believe that is fixable too, though not as simple.

The only folks I know he might be able to fix either issue is LovinMyBags.. You might try contacting Barbara with a photo or two, and see what she thinks.

Good luck!

HI all! Has anyone had their handles replaced or restored? I just purchased a pre-owned Balenciaga first (I've always like the earlier models) and I just got it. It definitely needs some TLC, can someone advise the best way to go about restoring the handles and just giving this bag an overall cleaning and restoration? Greatly appreciate any help!

Hi lovely TPFer, I was going to come in and ask the same question as jaymers11 ( sorry for highjacking the question )

In my case the sealant between whipstitch still some what intact only just starting to show some cracking but not by much , but at the base near 2 notches rivets shows more sign of wear.

I have been on this care and maintenance thread quite a bit and found the DIY post using Fiebing's edge kote, but I'm just wondering if there's any other sealant / DIY way of doing it ? because I'm not so sure about color matching ? or once edge kote dry will it be shiny / glossy finish ? ( I'm afraid that with my not so steady hand it might make this attempt of fixing turn into a disaster )

Can I use edge dye / some sort of paint and maybe put clear edge kote/ sealant on some spot that has just started to crack , coz if I can choose I would not want to edge kote the whole handle.

Sorry for my English if any of this doesn't make any sense , I'm trying my best of describing this

Have a good day :flowers:

Hello there,

I'm pretty new to Bals and just purchased a Messenger from The RealReal. It's lovely with the exception of some loose stitching on one of the bottom corners.

Just wondering if anyone has input on whether this is 1) critical 2) repairable. I don't typically carry super heavy items in my bags, but may want to have my iPad in there along with the rest of my day's items. I'm not tough on my bags either and rarely set them down (prefer to hang, if possible). Hoping this will help prevent further loosening, but would like to get it fixed if I can.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!
Michelle

Hi ladies,
I just got my Praline Day from ebay few days ago, it's lovely. It has some scuff marks though. Could you please tell me how can I get rid of these? There's no Balenciaga service in our country, so if I could anything on my own, it would be fantastic.
It was quite cheap, so I knew there would be some wear and I was considering dying it, but before I do that, I'd like to know that these stains are certainly not removable.
The handle would need some cleaning, too, but it's still wearable, these scratches are what I'm concerned about.
I would appreciate any help.

I can see some dark marks on the scratches. The marks have been cleaned? There seems to be a little fading around one or two of them. Anyway, I usually repair scratches with the Balenciaga cream but I think the LMB products may fix them as well. Have a look at Barbara's site to see if you want to order and do it yourself. It is the LovinMyBags site.

This is how it looked when I got it, I haven't tried to clean it myself yet. I was thinking about something I can make at home, but I suppose I have to take a look for some leather cleaner in nearby shops.

Yes, if you have a good cobbler he can give you something to clean it with but be very careful for it not to have detergent in it and move away the color. That is why I suggested the LovinMyBags products because they don't have detergent and the do the job perfectly. There is a thread here or maybe more that you can read and learn about Barbara's products.
