Good News. I am pleased to say Lvlady99 has agreed to take the bag back since I was not happy with it. I am so relieved because it was going to cost more than I would like to spend to have her restored after I had already spent $950 plus postage. Yes, there are responsible sellers on Ebay.

Thanks so much for all your support. You guys are the best.

I knew she would understand, shes quite nice and easy to deal with...

Glad it all worked out

Hi Everyone,
Need some input, please. One of my older bags has popped a stud, sort of. What I mean is, the conical part of the stud has popped off (the decorative part) , but the internal post thing, that actually holds everything together is still there. Does this make any sense??:confused1:

Anyway, I called Bal NY today and asked about getting a replacement stud. The SA said that I could order one, but added that the only way it could be properly installed, was with a special tool only "they" had. That would involve shipping my bag, and then having it shipped back. We all know how much we hate that! :yucky:

I said I'd think about it. Here's where you come in: anyone have a similar problem? How did you solve it? My thinking is, c'mon: it's only a piece of metal. It's not rocket science!

i've heard about hardware repair- they always make you send the bag to BalNY, I think it's also a preventative measure so they arent just sending out the hardware to potential counterfitters... thus by BalNY fixing the bbag, they are also authenticating it.

Hi Mocean!
I see the point--except the SA didn't refuse to send me the stud, she just said no one else could put it in properly. Problem is, I did not purchase this bag from them, or from any authorized retailer. I bought it at a consignment store (it's a 2004 bag). I was trying not to bring that up, for fear they would tell me to bugger off.

I sent my marigold for fix, I didn't buy it from BalNY either but they were nice enough to help me fix it still, but the repair process take awhile

Really? That's good news. Did they even ask you where you bought it? Funny, I was afraid to say too much. How much work are you having done? I'm green with envy about that Marigold, by the way:drool: !

bbagbubba--i sent a first to get fixed, didn't but it from BalNY, they fixed it(though they did use the newer studs(only noticeable on the inside), and had it back to me in 3 weeks(this was during the CHristmas/New Year period), SA I worked with kept me informed every step of the way.

I don't remember who it was, but they bought a bag off eBay, the stud came off and she sent it to BalNY, they fixed it with no problems, but it did take a while.

I wish you well, good luck with the repair!

Bridget

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words!
I feel much better now, and will make arrangements to send my bag away to be fixed:crybaby:, even tho that does give me nervous nerves. But if Burukogepanda can send away her Marigold, I can certainly send my Marron!
I'm happy to hear that BalNY is handling repairs, and doesn't seem to be limiting them to bags purchased in their store. Big relief, really.

I bought the bag from a consignment store and it came with a missing stud and leather piece that holds the ring, my SA didn't even ask where I got it she just told me to send it in and she will order the parts and fix it for me :graucho:

I sent a Caramel Weekender to BalNY for repair for this exact thing, it cost $25 total and took about 2 weeks:yes:
I didn't have any receipts or anything, as long as it's authentic they are fine with it!
