I replaced my tassels on my purse that recently got burned. I decided that my cat could play with the old ones. Probably not the smartest idea.....but....I did. Well he played with it for a minute, then the moment I looked away he chewed through one of them. He chewed off about 4 inchs and SWALLOWED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy cat. I guess Balenciaga seems quite delicious to them as well. :)

I am sorry about your twiggy. I have since been putting the bag in my closet with the door shut.

Oh no! That really sucks. I hope that you're able to finda better quote for a repair!

I think there must be something about them that attracts pets because one of my cats is totally in love with my balenciaga. The younger two always look tempted by the tassles but my eldest cat if I leave my bbag out... she immediately goes and lays down on it. Obviously I know I should take better care of my bags, but sometimes I'm switching things out and they do end up all around my bedroom.

Guess our pets have good taste :oP

My new red city came home with me  They didn't have any bright colored first except for a green, but not the dark enough like sapin and I didn't like it.

However I did see a new Part Time in caramel and I practically fell in love with it. The Neiman's girl told me that they are expecting black, white and blue india also but don't know exactly when. I am really torn. The caramel is lovely, warm and buttery. But I bet the white will be gorgeous in this size and I am still undecided on blue india given that I still haven't seen it in IRL. I know that it's a color I either love or hate.

That aside, as I was taking pictures of my new baby I noticed a white half-circle whitish mark on the plain side (about 1.5 inches). You can see it on the picture if you look to the left of where the right handle was stiched on to the bag. It looks like it's overly distressed. :hysteric: I don't want to return the bag. I love the color and that's the last one they had. Is there some way to fix it?

Have you tried conditioning it with Apple conditioner? That might be worth a try. Also, if it seems like it is a flaw, maybe you could send it to Balenciaga for repair. I read on an eBay auction today that someone sent her Grenat back to Balenciaga for redying of the tassels and trim. Here's the auction for more info:

eBay: Fall 2006 "ox blood" Balenciaga City Motorcycle Handbag (item 140031306420 end time Sep-25-06 19:54:08 PDT)\

P.S. I don't blame you for not wanting to send it back - it's a beautiful bag!

Can't believe I just got hooked on Balenciaga bags in the last week (thanks in no small part to this forum!). I quickly became obsessed with finding one of my own. I knew I had no hope of slipping this little purchase by my husband so I set my sights on either ebay or a replica - neither of which appealed to me. Unbelievably I walked into the local consignment store (a very, very high end one) and there was one sitting on the shelf - a City in black (less than $400). Since I'd carefully read about authenticating bbags online, I was able to check it over carefully and I was sure it was the real deal -- unfortunately it was put on a one day hold only 10 minutes before I walked in!!! I walked in the next day exactly 24 hours later and it was still there -- I knew if I didn't get it right then, I'd regret it. Well I love it - I'm sure it's going to stay with me like my LV Speedy I got 18 years years ago (which still looks great by the way) - but it does look a little tired. Since I've never seen a new one in person, I don't know how "used" it looks. Do you think I should even try to clean or refurbish it? I know there's a lot of experts here, please give me your opinon.

Sorry for the long post!
