What I notice about the refinished bags is that the color becomes too uniform ... on piping that probably wouldn't really matter, but if you had a larger area of the bag to refinish it would take away some of the bag's character. The Balenciaga colors seem to have a depth and variation to them that can't really be duplicated.

I didn't see any refurbished bags. The ones I saw just got in and she was examining them. I'm going to go back tomorrow after I get my Rouge Vif to see about getting a pretreatment or color sealant. The bags might be done by then so I will definitely report back on the texture of the refurbished bags. I know Chauss had her Bubblegum pink refurbished and she said the texture was not the same so she sent it back to Lovinmybags for them to fix it. I don't know how it turned out in the end, though.
The studio is pretty neat. It has a gorgeous leather smell. Mmmm...

I just visited lovinmybags.com studio last week as well. Barbara and Gary are super nice and knowledgable. Gary has been doing this (cleaning the leather, reconstruct them) for over 30 years. I had a long talk with them. Gary show me how to apply "for handle only" cream and explained how the chemical works.
I had Gary clean my yellow and turquoise handles. Now they look like new, especially the turquoise one. The minimum charge is $55 per bag and that's all they charge me for cleanning the whole bag, taking the oil out from the handle, touch up the color and such.
I got the pre-treatment cream for my new VIF. He told me it helps the store the color. Then I applied "for handle only" cream on all my b-bags. Now I feel more comfortable using the handles.
They are great. Highly recommend!

didi, definitely email both lovinmybags & artbag. When I sent pictures to Barbara @ lovinmybags, she was honest about the maximum amount they might charge me (depending on how hard it might be and I was like
), but then when they received my bags, she emailed me again and told me the actual amount, which was less. They wouldn't start working on your bag until you said the price is OK. I got my corners repaired, but they were just lightly scuffed, not worn out to the core, so it didn't cost much.

i would post it, but don't know how. i'll ask my brother to do it later.
he will try to get it free for me. i just send the photos to him, and i need to wait and see what happens next. even if they do fix it for free, it will be so long, and he says they have to have the leather send from italy. I don't know if i want my b bag to be away from me for so long, but if they can fix if and it'll be flawless, then it's worth it.

Our new kitten got ahold of my navy twiggy and chewed on it. I submitted pictures and requested a quote from lovinmybags to get it repaired. Hopefully it wont cost a whole lot. Here are the pictures I subitted for a before shot:

Oh dear! My dogs always stare at the tassels, but they're too short-legged to do anything about them. Hope you can get it repaired back to its original condition!
