Brage, I know nothing of Croisiere and have pictures of Colombie dated "1960s" in my database, with no other information. Sorry.Ladies, I am still not finnished with the Nautical theme. I have this scarf named Croisiere (cruise in french). I found the scarf on HSCI http://www.hsci.hermesscarf.com/viewer.php?albid=39&stage=1&imgid=7002
and then it was named Colombie, wich I presume is a name on a cruse ship. Have any of you an idea how this is connected or the story behind it?
Greatful for any thoughts.
Ladies! Thank you for your effort! I haven't found out anything re. The scarf so I guess I have to ask Hermes again (Jahna, I haven't heard from them yet re. The life preserver scarf). Sdsurfchick and Jahna, since you guys are so nice and helpful I will let you in on my secret (if you promise to keep it to yourselves!):Brage, I know nothing of Croisiere and have pictures of Colombie dated "1960s" in my database, with no other information. Sorry.
YAY!!! And wonderful research of source info! Thanks Bond.Sdsurfchick,
I am happy to report that after a month of stalking, I just won a rose/gris Vue du Carosse (de la Galère la Réale) just like you're modeling on h.com! Can't wait to see how it ties, this will be my first pink scarf and my first truly nautical scarf (because Jahna said the boats in Marché Flottant don't count!)
This is the aft view of the model of the royal galley La Réale from Musée de la Marine (The Naval Museum) in Paris that must have inspired this scarf:

More about La Réale here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Réale_(1694); the ship's photo from: http://artenavale.blogspot.com/p/la-reale-de-france_28.html
Thank you everyone for enabling!
Interesting. Thanks for coming back to us on that!!Dear Ladies, Jahna and Sdsurfchick,
I finally got an answer from Hermes re. The life preserver scarf (post 1222), they tell me that the name of the scarf is "Flotte" and is made by Hugo Grygkar in 1946. So now we know that!
Brage, I know nothing of Croisiere and have pictures of Colombie dated "1960s" in my database, with no other information. Sorry.
I have a scarf named France, which was a cruise ship and the scarf was sold in the ship in the 60s. The person who sold it on Ebay had all the documentation of the ship. Hermes seems to have done many scarves for ships, like the two Jeanne d'arc, one called Croiseur d'application and the other called Porte Helicoptre
I think there was a time it was presumed to have been faked because of the machined hem. Personally, I am changing those marked possibly fake to NOT fake. But that is only my (and a few other knowledgeable silkies' opinion.Hi Ladies, Do anyone of you know if Le Jeu Pair impaire by Hugo Grygkar has been faked. I know there is one issue with a machinestiched hem in some crepe silk or something.
Grateful for any info.
Thank you and best regards,
I cannot find this scarf listed as Hermes in my database. This doesn't mean it's not Hermes. I just don't know. You can try to list it in the authenticate thread, which may have a greater readership than this one. Perhaps someone there knows.Hello all,
I am quite new here, although an avide collector, please do you know the name of this scarf ???...

I will try to ask more photos...
merci d'avance....
Sorry, I don't know based on this one picture. Try posting to the Authenticate thread.I wondered if anyone can help, I don't know whether it is a wrap or a throw, has a large H woven in. It is huge and I have not seen this size in throws but I would swear it is a wrap. Measures around 82" x 56".
