You are most welcome, MaisieZ! I'm thrilled to hear you are going to try on scarves at the boutique to see what looks smashing on you. Just don't be deceived by the ones that look blah or not to your liking when they are laid flat. Some of my favorites are those whose designs and colors I thought were absolutely not for me.....and then when I tried them on my opinion changed instantly. Try on everything and have lots of fun!!! Wishing you a great Hermes shopping trip....

Hi ladies! I am brand new to Hermes scarves, and I have this one, which seems to be a vintage one (I think?). It has a tag from bonwit teller sewn to the back and 100% silk and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where to authenticate, and also, how to find out the name of the design?

I purchased it from a really sweet woman locally on craigslist and she also directed me to her ebay info and had very excellent feedback, so I felt comfortable with the authenticity...BUT have to be certain of course!

It feels so nice! I really love it...Thanks so much for the guidance in advance and I apologize for posting this here if its the wrong thread! :smile1:

Great advice not to dismiss scarves because of how they look flat. Unless they're going to be framed, that should not be a huge consideration. I used to loathe loathing at La Reale Vue due Carosse, and then I saw Diane Keaton wearing an H-scarf at the end of Mad Money and had to ask scarfies what it was. Within a week I had five of them, it ties so well. Color pop and how it ties are my criteria for buying. Have fun trying on and learning what looks best on you.

Hi Miss D.I. Going forward, you should post things like this in the Authentication thread ... http://forum.purseblog.com/authenti...lease-read-rules-use-412023.html#post13708199 ... This scarf is authentic BTW. Les Clefs by Caty Latham, I think originally issued in 1965 and reissued many times. Lovely.

Have just bought a new scarf "les cles"
Have just noticed that it does not have design name woven into it .
All my other scarfs have and wondered if many are like this?
Or do most have design woven in?
It was bought from Hermes store in France

Les Cles is one of many that are without the name printed. Back to you later with a short list of others.

You might revisit this thought once you get to know the designs. Here is a short list of ones that don't have the name on them. Forgive the misspellings and messup of the name ... Champignons, Les Races de Chevaux, Chiens de Chasse, Combats des Coqs, Cors de Chasse en Forme d'Oiseaux, Crowns, Echiquer, Egypte or Scarabees et Pectoraux, Epaulettes, Eva , Ex Libris, Faisan et Lievre, Faubourg Saint Honore 2004,
Gibier, Grand Prix, Grand Vent, Hussard et Cantiniere aka Le Madelon, La Danse, La Mare aux Canards, Le Monde du Polo, Tigre Royal, Les Attelages, Les Biches, Les Chats, Les Clefs, Les Insectes, Les Poulains, Les Truites, Mexique, Notre Dame de Paris, Orange et Citron, Perspective, Profile, Sangles, Timbalier, Timoniers, Tohu Bohu, Trompes de Chasse, Victoires et Scenes Militaire de la Vie de Napoleon, Vinci

Thanks for your quick reply .I must have just been lucky with all my others!
I like the design name on the scarves so I dont forget what they are called:smile1:

Gosh that is quite a long list!! Many thanks
I must have been very lucky to have bought all my scarfs in the past with the designs on.
I am so forgetful I would never remember all the names without a little help:D

Hello ladies! I have ben following this thread for a couple of months and though it was finally time to sign up! I have never really done the whole blogging thing before but I think it's about time. I've recently become hopelessly addicted to Hermes scarves (thanks to my husband of all people who gave me a pochette for a wedding present...) I have been desperately chasing a white 'A Vos Crayons' and one has come up on eBay... any ideas whether this is real? I haven't ever seen one with a yellow hem before (then again, I've only seen fuschia, blue and orange in the boutiques?) Help would be much appreciated (the seller will hopefully be sending a picture of the care tag)

Welcome, Sophiekristine!

There is a thread for authenticating scarves here:
http://forum.purseblog.com/authenti...s-scarf-rtw-please-read-rules-use-412023.html

The pics on the auction you've linked to aren't very good, hope the seller can send you better ones.
