Marge, there is a separate thread for authentication of scarves (make sure to read the instructions in the first post before posting)--you will probably get more responses there:

I am 99.9% sure this is authentic and lovely, but you should probably ask on the authentication thread to be sure. Good luck!

Dear Hermes scarves expert....

I saw a very beautiful scarf worn by H SA, I looove it very much. She said the name of the scarf is "Fleur d'oranger" the color is fuchsia/framboise. But when I do search here, I can't find it. Is the name correct? and anyone know from what year is that scarf?

I searched any scarves name that starts with fleurs...and I guess the close one to the scarf that I saw is this one: fleurs de l'Opera. I'm not sure yet, but the palm leaves (are those palm leaves?) look similar to the scarf that was worn by the SA. (unfortunately when I was at the store, I couldn't ask her to take off the scarf (so I can see the whole pattern clearly) as she's wearing it as a top :p)

here's the picture, but in my computer the color looks washed, so it doesn't do justice of the beauty of the scarf. IRL the color is more vivid and yummmmyyyyyyy....:love:

sounds good. It was reissued about 3 or 4 yrs ago so that may be the one that your SA wore.

Hi! I hope I'm posting in the right spot. If not, please let me know if you think I could find a better thread. I am really hoping one of the very experienced scarf gurus will be able to help me out! I've looked for the answers on here and online in general to no avail!

I bought this scarf from Hermes around 2003, I think. It's silk mousseline/chiffon and the print is La Prairie. Colorway is white and orange (a sort of cantelope color). It's not a regular stole, it's a double print of the square pattern on a very long length of chiffon - it measures about 36"x74" or 90cm x 188cm. I am going to try to attach a picture...please forgive me if it doesn't work. It's my first time trying! I'm also attaching a pic of the tag, which has a mysterious (to me!) "5" on it.

I'm trying to find out any info about this particular scarf/format. What's it called? Are there others? More colorways in Prairie? Do they do this in twill too - or is this a one off? I don't think one offs are at all common in the Hermes world, so I rather doubt that! I want to list this on eBay, but I'd like to be able to give it it's proper name! :smile1:

Thanks Markova! I had no idea of the initial issuing year - I very much appreciate your info. Have you seen this scarf before like this, as a 2fer? With the white band in the middle, it almost seems like a printing mistake. But that would never make it past Hermes control, I don't think - it's been hemmed and tagged and sold (to me) in boutique.

I actually thought about cutting it in half and making twins, but that seems rash...

It's not a mistake Berrynoir, but fairly rare. I have a vintage double scarf in the "Crown" pattern that is folded and sewn lengthwise, forming a double-faced shawl. It's a very lovely old-fashioned look when worn draped under a coat or jacket.

These double scarf stoles were available mostly in the mid 1990s. Yours is from that time period.

I've seen it in Voiles de Lumiere and Luna Park, both are designs from the 90s.

It probably only came in 2 or 3 colorways.

BTW, I am working on your pics and should email you sometime today.
