Ladies

I got a new scarf on ebay from a trusted seller. I am, however, a little turned off as it feels stiff and not as silky as the others I have. I am very new to scarves and fabrics so I was wondering if there is any place where I can go and learn about the different types of materials used. I don't want to make the same mistake of getting a scarf that does not feel nice.

many thanks
May I add to Silkfringe's response that, going forward, you need to ask the seller about that specific characteristic. I have brand new never worn scarves that are stiff because Hermes went heavy on the sizing for a couple of years some years back. If you are going to rinse out the sizing/starch, be sure to use some sort of dye catcher (like Synthrapol) and quickly roll the scarf in a white towel or you may create dye bleed problems.

I LOVE THIS....
very pretty, amazing details.
Can you tell me more about this scarf? is it even remotely possible to get my hand on it?

This is an older issue, so it won't be in boutiques I don't think--but an orange one just came up on ebay....ask the seller for more pics and post in the AT thread if you're interested:

Also another in a different colorway--am not familiar with this seller either:

I am hoping someone out there may have a list os style numbers and names and can help me out. I have some style numbers (from store invoices) and want to match them up with my scarves. Here are the numbers:
90CMS SILK TWILL 001897 S28
90CMS SILK TWILL 002292 S 02
90CMS SILK TWILL 002405 S 05
90CMS SILK TWILL 301211 S 07
140CMS MOUSSELINE 340100 S 26
140CMS MOUSSELINE 342109 S 06
70CMS VINTAGE SILK 982418 S 07

Any help would be much appreciated. (In case you are wondering, I have a scarf spread sheet, which my daughter tells me makes me "such a dork")

I am happy to reciprocate if there are any other "dorks" out there who need info.

Thanks!
