Regarding scarves directly from H and with defects. Yes, it does happen and there are horror stories of ghastly printing errors and the store being unwilling to refund/exchange.

The Big H used to have a policy of accepting any BN scarf for exchange at any time. That is no more.

The scarves sold at the Hermes sales have historically included seconds and rumor has it that all their sale scarves are now seconds. But, no one has gone through all of them in order to verify that statement by an SA at the Paris sales.

^I've only seen a photo of the 'Patchwork' and it's absolutely heavenly :yes: , and Kilim is always wonderful anytime anywhere. Congrats on such wonderful finds! Wear them in good health. :smile1:

^^^I managed to snap up a patchwork at the NM Denver during pre-sale last week. It looks like the sections are machine-serged together (?). I had never seen one and didn't know what to expect. Am I just not looking closely enough?

I'm new to this forum and I've loved reading and learning more about Hermes scarves!!!! I'm having a difficult time finding a photo of "la treve de l'eau" . . . can anyone direct me????

I have another question . . . . are the care tags on authentic hermes scarves always sewn on the same direction? Lettering facing inward or outward?
I think I may have purchased a fake????:confused1:

Okay, I've done a couple of searches on this thread and think I've found the answer but need confirmation. The size of the Hermes scarf is 90cm x 90 cm (36" x 36"). What size exactly is the pochette? Is it 17" x 17"? I'm trying to decide what size to buy.

I purchased LA TREVE DE L'EAU in the bleu turquoise and on the link
Scarves - LinPHA it is identical to the color scheme in the 3rd and 4th picture. I haven't received the scarf yet, I just purchased it yesterday. I had perfect luck my first time around on e-bay receiving a beautiful La mecanique des idees in orange! I just love it and fell in love with La Treve de l'eau! Although to color scheme looks identical to the photos in the description, the care tags lettering is facing outward.???? Most of the scarves I've looked at have the care tags lettering facing inward, as with my first purchase. Do you know if this is a clear give away, or should I still keep my hopes up?

dpgirl, I am not an expert by any stretch, but here is what New Page 2 has on caretags. I believe that some of this information also comes from designersilkscarves.com, a reputable dealer of hermes and other silk scarves...

Also, the fakes of your scarf on that site are shown as distinguished by their colourways, so it seems to me that if your colourway reasonably matches the authentic ones, you are probably OK, but post pics here to be sure...

I've learned more about Hermes scarves in the past week then I ever thought I would want to know! I'm truly hooked! A dear friend of mine has several and I've always been drawn to them, but recently I took a leap of faith and I'm so happy I did! I hope I'm just as happy when I receive my second!!! I never tire looking at them!:smile1:
