Hello lovely people,
I have been looking for an Hermes scarf with any relation to The USA. Either designer or style or motif and it looks like Kermit Oliver is the only American designer that designed for Hermes. Do you know of any scarf designs that are American? I need it for a “patriotic” event. Thanks a lot!

"Early America" is a wonderful design featuring George and Martha Washington!

Looking for a usa themed design or Cw ? Designs would be by Oliver but red white and blue was a popular vintage cw - liberty, Selles a housse, Texas wildlife came in r w and blue cws

Thanks a lot! Yes for a theme more than just the colors. You are right a lot of the vintage have those colors with gold. I just checked liberty and it is a great option. Thanks again!

In my opinion, Liberty is a big time patriotic, wave-the-flag scarf. Yes, it has the flag of France also, but if you get it in one of the red, white or blue colorways, you'll be Little Miss Patriot. :)

I love this thread.....was just wondering about this.
Ooohhh I wrote that here in 2008 ... 5000 - 7000 is not a bad guess of production per carre ca 1986 - when the number of 700,000 was floated. It is much higher today in 2018.
As to 100 - 200 issues per special issue - that deserves a bunch of caveats.
10 - 15 years ago, 100 was the minimum order for a special printing - I am sure there were some done in such small quantities but I cannot give an example for which I am absolutely certain.
The ABC Broadcasting 1984 Olympics was done in a batch of 1600 per Le Monde.
And of course, there is the question - what constituted a special issue ? The De Passage series will never come again - some people consider them to be special issues, but, as part of the regular collection they were definitely not done in limited quantities.
So, special issue is NOT synonymous with rare/ limited production, it depends
