Hi guys. An update on my troubles removing my RCM polish. I followed the tips here about applying heat and stuff but still no joy. As my Erase was running low I just bough a big bottle of pure acetone and some lint free pads and a roll of extra strong foil. I found removal much easier than using the Erase and the RCM removal kit.

Secondly. I have some questions for you guys.

Stamping Question: For those who have successfully done Konad stamping with their RCM did you use the Konad nail polish or RCM polish? If you make a mistake can you just wipe it off without ruining your colour coats? Did you have any issues with the stamped design wiping off when you applied brilliance? I'm going to buy some stamping stuff but just wanna check some things first.

I have used Konad in the past with not very good results. I had a little tiny trial kit stamper that came with white polish. It was ok but not perfect and when I applied top coat it messed up the design. This was only ever tried on normal nail polish not RCM

You have to use konad or rnp on top of a finished sog Mani. I don't think there has been any success with sog.

!

I stamp often to add pizzazz to my mani's :) I do it over cured top coat with RNP. I have found that doing it before the top coat it isn't as crisp and if I make a mistake and keep wiping color coat with alcohol my color on that finger is not as dark or covered as others. I have used SOG polish to stamp and its a pain smears everywhere also have painted it in the plate cured for 5 sec then stamped it on my nail successfully but I get nervous that I am going to cure to long one time and ruin my plates so I only do that if I need an SOG color I don't have in RNP. :)

After stamping with RNP over a completed SOG mani, do you use SOG top coat or regular top coat?

Nail swatch question: I bought some of those plastic nail things so I can swatch some colours and practice nail art and my ideas before attempting it on myself. Do I need to rough up the surface of the plastic first? Also is it necessary to apply base coat or can I just go straight in with my colours and art and cure?

Thanks guys for any advice, you are wonderful here. Especially the person who gave me so many tips about getting my RCM to last. Now it lasts 2 weeks and more!

I find that RCM, Gelish an Sensationail are TERRIBLE to remove if I've used the Red Carpet Manicure Prep Max Adhesion Sanitizer during application.

To me it seems to change the make up of the gel which in my experience, makes the gel crumble (very slowly 20+ mins!!!) during soak off (with acetone) instead of lifting in sheets (quickly 8-10 mins) when I don't use it. For mys mum, sister and myself it doesn't seem to reduce chipping or lifting so I dont use it anymore because it makes removal so much more difficult and three times as long!!! It made my friends manicure last almost 3 weeks but removal was just horrendous!!!

I always use heat (mini hot water bottle), a towel and wrap each hand in a plastic bag, using the foil method. I have cold hands so applying heat helps speed up removal.

I use SOG top coat. Yesterday I did my moms nails after the color did coat of vitagel strength, wiped with alcohol and stamped on that, then did SOG top coat worked great! Made a mistake on 1 finger and when I removed it with non acetone remover my mani underneath still had perfect color and no color transfer onto paper towel :) I stamped my accent finger last mani and it wore decent with just RNP topcoat on but the stamped part on tip of finger nail had worn off after about 10 days

That's interesting thanks. So in your opinion it's best to do on top of my cured brilliance? Then I suppose I top coat it again?

I stamp with RNP and immediately put SOG topcoat on when done stamping one hand. If I use a RNP topcoat over stamp I don't use SOG topcoat hope that makes sense

Ok I'm confused lol. When you say you stamp with RNP what is that?

Is this right:

1. Red Carpet base, cure
2. Red Carpet colour coats and cure
3. Red Carpet brilliance top coat and cure & wipe tacky layer
4. Use Konad colour and plates to stamp, wipe any mistakes away with purify
5. Finish with another coat of Red Carpet brilliance top coat, cure and wipe.
