REALLY annoyed with Shopbop...

GabrielleJ - tell me WHY on earth you felt the need to start an account on this site and post lengthy messages in this thread specifically and no other? You really have no profile and your investment in this thread leads me to believe you are an employee or affiliate of Shopbop which means your opinion is unbiased, and unwanted here if you continue to be rude and slanderous, criticism i can take, but coming on here and calling me a thief and telling me i am "making myself look worse" is not helpful but just you having a go and putting me down...
I have reached an amicable resolution with Shopbop and fully intend to follow it through and will keep my progress updated on this thread, something i had mentioned previously but yet you STILL felt the need to come on here and type yet more nonsense, if you don't like the tone of my thread then why continue to visit here and read it? I after all have EVERY RIGHT to start a thread and complain about a company and my experience with them, why try to convince otherwise?!

I joined because I did a Shopbop search and saw this. I am always am lurking and reading what people are saying.. i just found this one situation about a company that i have never had any issue with needed to be addressed. You didn't feel a need to comment on the administrator. With all the anger you seem to be having towards anyone that doesn't agree with you kinda seems like you have a hidden agenda don't you think....hmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe trying to get a bag that you obviously can't afford for free.

Gabrielle, you posting here is obviously a conflict of interest . . . unless you choose to be transparent, which I encourage you to do

Actually, if you read through the thread that Tejava posted, she was never even charged for the bag. In fact, she actually ended up getting a shirt for free. What she was complaining about was the fact that, when Shopbop refunded her the return shipping, they did so in gift certificate form. She NEVER stated that Shopbop refused to refund her for her purchase.

As far as Melly's thread goes, I have no idea whether the bag was fake or not, but Shopbop remedied the problem by accepting the return and then also giving her a discount for a future purchase.

And if you read what ilovechanel2 wrote, the reason she was not issued the refund was because Shopbop never received the package. I know it's unfortunate that the package got lost, but it is her responsibility to make sure the package gets to them, and if not, at least keep the insurance receipt (if there is one) until she is sure they received the package.

NONE of these threads in any way indicate that Shopbop ever refused to refund people or refused to correct a mistake they made. Please get your facts straight before you start accusing a company of theft and slandering their name.

I don't understand that post^ No one is slandering, what did I miss? I had a really bad experience and shared it with the op. How is posting about a bad experience slander in any way whatsoever?

I also agree that is looks very suspicious being a new person and this is where you are posting.
Something is not right.

However people like GabrielleJ response blatantly insinuating that i am a thief should not be allowed, i fail to see how slander is encouraged on a forum, posts like that just cause more negativity, bad feeling and upset, there was really no need for it - her opinion or not,

I was referring the the slander she was claiming in the above post. I think there are a lot of things suspicious here and someone joining and commenting on a post are not one of them. Why is someone get so offended and concerned over something that obviously doesn't seem to be true. Frankly I think it's a non issue. She isn't trying to get a bag for free and has worked out her problem. Enough name calling and finger pointing.

Right, but that was what you insinuated in the first instance, that i was suspicious and trying to get a bag for free which is just not true and is as good as calling me a thief!
I have been a member of TPF for over a month now and have thoroughly enjoined engaging with all the wonderful ladies on here in different sub-forums and especially the celebrity section and the handbags and purses section and this is my first negative thread but a valid one, and like i have said for the THIRD time now, one that is looking like is at a resolution that both company and customer is happy with,
But YOU joined this forum and have ONLY commented on this thread and been rude and be-littling from the off, now i apologise if you are not an employee or affiliate with Shopbop but merely a mega fan, i guess time will tell, when/if you continue to be a member of this site and join in and post on other threads non-related to Shopbop CS and QC or not...

All I see are people going after the OP. A lot of great advice and it's nice to know that people have had great experience with the company. I have no doubt that OP will get her money back. However, I just questioned why you came on the thread, as a new poster. Fishy. I'll leave it at that and follow Swanky's request.

I'm glad you got it all sorted in the end. I ordered mine from Aloha Rag and mine was ristine and had no flaws whatsoever, so perhaps if you wanted another Rocco then perhaps try Aloha? Plus, you get the 3% off if you're part of their membership scheme. I noticed you're from England also, and if you're lucky you can skip on the customs fee!

Awww thankyou so much for your kind response and being fab enough for giving a recommendation :D

sorry to hear... I have made a few purchases from them but for jewelry or clothing and did not have a problem. Not sure about their bags. Bummer
Maybe tell CS that you will go public with their poor products and they may sing a different tune.

Ugh, what an inappropriate way to deal with the situation. Threaten them, that's nice.

Yes i really intend to, i was upset though when typing my post and horrified to hear of others problems with the company, it didn't help that someone appeared to of posting on here with the intention of making me feel worse, i mean if they are not an employee of Shopbop then why fight their corner so avidly to the point of coming on my thread and typing repeated posts with spiteful and condescending words?
As i previously mentioned - we are not all so well off that this is nothing, this is a huge deal to me and has thoroughly upset myself and my husband and i guess people that are better off financially just don't get it...

You need to stop with the "better of financially" nonsense. All of us here work hard for our money not just you and your husband.

Shop bop is the most visible, popular and capitalized fashion ecommerce store if not then in the top three. They ship 100s of packages a DAY, It would be freaky if everything went out perfect and returns went perfect. They have been doing this the longest and are a pioneer in fashion ecommerce.

As for people not getting refunds, you never know what you read in these forums are true. People say they send back things all the time and they DO NOT ALWAYS do this. On top of that, postal carriers LOOSE packages. It happens all the time. In their return policy and terms of use they stress to all insure packages etc and etc. This is par for the course, and most people who complain about not getting a refund you will find have not followed these steps.

As for customs, It is not the company's responsibility in ANY context to cover the import taxes or duties. They are determined by YOUR COUNTRY and the shipper never knows from one day to the next what they might be as they change all the time.

Send the damn bag back and get your refund. If it is flawed then Shopbop should pay any costs you incurred in the process.

Wow, that's so weird b/c shopbop.com is one of the best IMO in terms of customer service and honesty, etc.

But everyone has diff. expectations/experiences.

I guess if there is anything at all you can take away from this experience is this:
When ordering such a pricey item (esp. if you're going through financial setbacks) try to order domestically or even skip the risk altogether and go visit a store that has the item you want in stock.

Sorry you're experiencing this.
