REALLY annoyed with Shopbop...

So very sorry to hear your troubles!!! I speak on behalf of most of us here, we totally understand your financial woes. It is a very unsteady climate around for all financially. Firstly, I would take photos from every angle of the damaged bag.
Second, I would write and phone the company and ask them to email you a return label. Third, upon your return of the merchandise, call your credit card company and let them know what happened. You now have photos of the bag and keep receipts of sending the bag back to Shopbop and you should be able to get a full refund.

Again, I am sorry this happened to you! I know firsthand how it feels to get something and be very disappointed when you receive it. Been there done that. Good luck and keep us all apprised!

No company will refund u without receiving the merchandise first, that is common sense.

Return it and then after they see the defects..I'm sure they will refund u return shipping

I have placed HUNDREdS of orders from them...and only returned one thing.they refunded my CC within 3 days and were amazing to deal with.
I personally think they have the best CS out there.... In all honesty
Injust received a pair of Vince pants today and didn't know about F and F discount yesterday.I emailed them to see if they would apply the discount...they did.I received and email response within 8 hrs and a credit to my card
They have always bent over backwards for me.....perhaps once u return the defective merchandise...u too will see how good they r?

was wrapped in a clear plastic bag with Alexander Wang written on it. The dust bag was folded inside the bag. The black tag was also hanging on the inside pocket's zipper. Is this how your bag arrived?QUOTE]

Hey, yes this was how my bag arrived, was soo excited until i pulled it out but straight away i saw the fault, it was very obvious and apparent from first look :-(

Hey, thankyou so much for your kind message, it cheered me up thoroughly to see how very understanding others can be :hugs:

I have already taken photos of the fault and i will definately ship back to them and send via recorded delivery so i will have proof that they recieved it back, do you know how i go about getting a chargeback on my card? Sorry if it sounds dumb but i have never had to do it before :blushing:

I am just angry that it seems like their CS is so terrible and the quality control even worse, you would of thought after many returns due to faults that they would check items more thoroughly before posting out, i mean it makes sense to me to do that and to check returned items thoroughly before putting back out for sale, just makes me sad that i had 4 occasions in the next few weeks that i planned to use this bag and will now not be able to as i doubt they would get me a refund through in the next week or so...

I know you are angry and upset and have every right to be. I have never bought from them so I wouldn't know the length of time it would take to get a refund. I assume the refund will be done through your CC company though. Simply phone your CC company and let them know what happened and they will walk you through the rest as far as how long it will take to get a refund. I imagine it might take up to 30 days. Figure that so if you get a refund in a week or two you will be excited!

Again, sorry this happened! If there is any way you can buy in a department store near you on sale (usually in June), that might be your best bet! Lots of luck!!

We never allow members to use our forum name when it comes to complaining to a company. It is not our choice to do these things and not something we want our forum name to be associated with. So please do not do that going forward.

That being said, ShopBop is a completely reputable company. I have never heard of a company like ShopBop not refunding someone for an item that they return. I have personally shopped at ShopBop online at least 20 times and never had one problem with returns.

Keeping that item and demanding a refund without giving them back the defective item will never work, and if you do that long enough you will actually be past the time that you are allowed to return the bag. Not sure how that makes sense.

Follow protocol and you will get your money back shortly after.

You're being really unreasonable. The bag was defective, but you're basically here complaining about nothing. They already offered you a refund, and they asked you to ship the bag back... what more do you want? And you're already getting ready to do a chargeback without giving them a chance to refund you?

Plus why are you bumping all the threads you can find about shopbop having bad customer service? Some of those threads are YEARS old. You need to stop being so hysterical. Calm down and ship the bag back instead of being a drama queen. You're complaining about things like returned items and no refund which you have not received; you're deliberately trying to trying to turn customers away Shopbop even though they haven't refused you a refund; you're using tpf to back up your delusions; and to top it all off you're creating havoc on this forum by bumping up all those outdated threads!

If you look back at all these threads then you will see that there WERE members that sent items back but did not recieve refunds which is what made me panic, i can't afford to lose all that money but have decided that i will send back via recorded delivery so that they can't claim that they haven't recieved the parcel,
As for being "hysterical" i find that EXTREMELY rude and condescending, why come on here just to be rude and not helpful?! SOME of us on here have to save long and hard in order to buy something and $850 for the item plus $250 duties and taxes is a LOT of money so something like this is REALLY upsetting and the very last thing in the world that i needed,
The bumping of the threads is to show that this is a problem that they are obviously experiencing FREQUENTLY over the years (since they have been owned by Amazon i believe) and i wasn't "using the forums name" but rather just directing them to threads of unhappy customers of threads i have seen anywhere, like Russell from Saks once commented - how on earth are they supposed to see the problem if there is not enough evidence in front of their eyes to see what is going wrong??? Tooo many people now have recieved defective items from Shopbop and i think it is about time that they take heed and change their ways, because i for one will NEVER be shopping with them again just from what has happened to me and what i have read has happened to others...

If you bothered to look at the threads you bumped up, you'd see that they are from years back, talking about problems which were resolved.

I am helping you- I was pointing out that your behavior was unreasonable and offered assistance in the right way to behave on a public forum. Your behavior affects the amount of help you receive. If you cannot see how doing things like bumping up every negative threat about Shopbop (regardless of if they're related to your situation or not), complaining about things which have not occurred to you, and being in hysteria about your very simple situation, is not the right way to behave, then I don't think anyone can help you.

Shopbop hasn't implied that they'll take your money in their communications with you. Aside from not replying within 24 hours, they've been very courteous. Posting publicly that you are almost certain a store will steal your money, and trying to scare potential customers into believing the same, when the store did not try to do it to you is a really serious offence.

Being so frantic and paranoid is not the right way to behave anywhere. Take a deep breath and relax. Then send the bag back. If they don't give you a refund within 2 weeks of receiving it, complain that they stole your money, then do a chargeback. It's as simple as that.

As explained before - this was an item that my husband and i had to SAVE for, something that was difficult at this point in time to afford but we did it, then we got charged £130 in duties and taxes (something i realise is the norm when the company have not covered the costs their end) but that really left us broke, so to recieve a faulty item and for them to tell me to send it back AT MY COST - then YES, i am hysterical, it may be no hardship to YOU to have to do this, but it is for ME, and as this was my very first order with them and they screwed it up by sending a faulty item then i thought to check on the forums about if anyone had a similar experience and how they dealt with things and was SHOCKED at what i read ON THIS FORUM about Shopbop sending out shoddy merchandise again and AGAIN, about them sending out a FAKE Marc jacobs bag to one customer and for convincing 2 people to send back faulty items but then NEVER credited their cards with the refund amount, so where is the trust for me to send to them? - THAT was my original point!
After much crying and agonising though i realised in the calm that i could just send recorded delivery which would give me more security but all in all i will be out of pocket even MORE for shipping costs ASWELL as the duties and taxes because even IF they refund me the amount for the bag itself then i find it doubtful that they will refund me the duties and taxes that i had to pay which is just NOT FAIR!!!
So before you come on here judging me and having a go making me feel so much worse than i already do then why not try putting yourself in someone elses shoes and THINK before you type and upset people further, we haven't all got money to burn you know!!!

^I think Fenix is saying put yourself in Shopbop's shoes so to speak. If you sold a bag to someone who had a complaint, would you just send them the money back, without seeing it? The word hysterical carries a bad connotation but it isnt necessarily. You seemed really upset in your opening post and your reactions did not appear to be level-headed in response to your complaint. You are not Shopbops only customer - they are now shipping worldwide. It may take a day or two to respond but it does not mean they are ignoring you or dont want to help. One day is not unreasonable, nor is the request to send the bag back. I received a broken necklace from them once, out of 100's of orders, they apologized, I shipped it back and they sent me a replacement. Give them a chance to refund.

Yes i really intend to, i was upset though when typing my post and horrified to hear of others problems with the company, it didn't help that someone appeared to of posting on here with the intention of making me feel worse, i mean if they are not an employee of Shopbop then why fight their corner so avidly to the point of coming on my thread and typing repeated posts with spiteful and condescending words?
As i previously mentioned - we are not all so well off that this is nothing, this is a huge deal to me and has thoroughly upset myself and my husband and i guess people that are better off financially just don't get it...

I understand how upsetting and frustrating this must be. But also, rest assured that it will be resolved. I've ordered from Shopbop at least 25 times and have never had a problem returning something. My card has been credited as soon as 3 days after they received it to around a week and a half, but there was never a problem. I don't like the idea that they don't do proper quality checks, but I have no doubt that they are a financially trustworthy company. So, your hard-earned money will be returned!

Since the bag arrived damaged, have you asked if they'll cover shipping costs? That's not a terribly unreasonable thing to ask and other retailers have done that. Good luck.
