REALLY annoyed with Shopbop...

Platinum Girly, If the international return shipping is very costly I would ask for a prepaid shipping label. Reputable sellers have no problem doing this when an item is not up to standard. But I would do this first because you are not guarenteed the return shipping after the return process and companies rarely send money back for shipping. A prepaid lable is cheaper for the seller and easier for the buyer to cover shipping cost. See where shopbop stands on this. Just try to keep a positive outlook and everything will be fine. I really dont get the arguments and retorts between everyone ?? No use beating a dead horse with a stick.

You have mentioned several times that this is your first order. Don't you think it is a tad bit hasty to post on a blog that the Company is terrible and won't refund you and their customer service is the worst you ever experienced? I have ordered with Shopbop hundreds of times and have never had a problem either. I don't work for them but I don't need to in order to defend them. They have the best selection and the hottest trends out there. Why did you order your bag from them in the first place? Because they had it! I am positive that you can just send the item back and get a replacement or a refund. I know that you also keep mentioning that you had to save to buy the bag and it is special. I get that as well. We don't all have money but that doesn't mean you can be rude and say that people don't get it. I also think that it speaks volumes that an administrator had to come on here and say that Shopbop is a reputable company and that you are misusing this blog. Sad :( Sorry but I LOVE SHOPBOP and will ALWAYS continue to shop with them. Just remember there may be problems but how someone solves them is what makes the difference and I have had great experience!

platinum , i am so sorry for what happened to you ,i know how much you coveted that bag :(

i know that international transactions can be difficult , but unfortunately customs duties are not seller's responsability ,and i doubt they will refund them :(...i agree with others:ship the bag back asap with tracking number and insurance (if possible) ,i am sure you will receive your money back in a few days :smile1:

I joined because I did a Shopbop search and saw this. I am always am lurking and reading what people are saying.. i just found this one situation about a company that i have never had any issue with needed to be addressed. You didn't feel a need to comment on the administrator. With all the anger you seem to be having towards anyone that doesn't agree with you kinda seems like you have a hidden agenda don't you think....hmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe trying to get a bag that you obviously can't afford for free.

My advice:

Take a deep breath! This has happened to probably many posters on this board in some form or another with an online purchase.

It can be very deflating to be very excited to see a most wanted bag come to fruition & to save for it only to be let down when it arrives less than perfect. Especially when you are talking about a lot of money.

I understand you are upset, I can tell from your posts...but if this is your very first purchase with Shopbop, give them a chance to make it right. You are jumping to conclusions.

Yes, they should have checked the shipment for flaws. Yes, you are (understandably) angry.

It is not necessarily fair to assume that they will not work with you and make unfavorable comments.

I hope that everything works out for you. I do believe that things happen for a reason...so maybe another bag is waiting in the wings for you!!!

Well, it's 12:30 CST in the US, have you talked to them today about having them put a pre-paid shipping label to you in the mail? They're available by phone until 6PM CST today, which is about 1AM or so your time, right?

How DARE you try to call me a thief?! Just WHO do you think you are! Comments of this nature should NOT be allowed on this forum and only makes it look more and more like you work for Shopbop as you joined PURPOSELY to post on my thread - TWICE!
I would kindly ask that you refrain from making any more false accusations that you have no proof of, i do however have proof from other threads of how Shopbop have treated their customers and can speak from my OWN experience in that they sent me a faulty bag and after 2 e-mails to them have not responded to me and i managed to get them on live chat and even said i have photo evidence and yet they only say that i can ship it back AT MY OWN COST, unfair much?! I even asked for a manager and they said the SAME thing! How very rude of you to come on here and speak down to a so very obviously upset person, karma will come!

FINALLY i now have a reply from them that makes sense and sounds reasonable to both me as a customer and them as the company, it took over 48 hours but got there in the end...
So i am now going to ship it back to them for a full refund, they told me that they do not give pre-paid labels for returns to overseas customers however they will refund the amount back to me with the amount of the bag upon receipt of its return,
I am thusfar now happy with the response that i recieved, they have even offered to refund my duties and taxes if i fax them the receipt - this is all i wanted, this ^ response :-)
I will keep this updated on how things go, i would be grateful in future if people would refrain from making wild accusations at me and slanderous comments, i am NOT a thief, never have been and never would be, my family is a respectable one and a few months of financial strain would not change that...

Anyone is allowed to post on anyone's thread, as long as people are following forum rules. Everyone needs to be respectful - both ways.

Listen, I think everyone understands that this was a lot of money for you and the bag did not arrive how you hoped it would. But you CAN return it. Unfortunately, I am unsure of them refunding customs, but that is something you need to research when purchasing an item and see what their policies are. Furthermore, if you love this bag so much but just got a defective one, why not exchange it?

You have to realize that while people sympathize with you, your posts are coming off very over-the-top. ShopBop is a massive corporation, a company that prides itself on customer service, and continues to provide that for many if not most of their customers.

I would suggest taking a step back - trying to see it from their perspective- and approaching them differently. Ask politely for what it is that you would like or expect, like a shipping label. Do not point them to complaint threads somewhere else, that will get you no where. But that is just me, it is ultimately up to you. Everyone here is actually just trying to help

I agree with Megs. I am sorry that you had this experience and my intention was not to call you a thief. It was the exaggerated responses that I did not understand. From the beginning it sounded like Shopbop was going to refund you for all of your costs but you made it seem like you would not be happy until you got a new bag for free. Just seemed suspicious. Yes I joined this in May but I explained my reasoning and I do not appreciate attacks by you either. Goes both ways. I love the Rocco bag and hope everything works out for you.

Hi Megs and i do appreciate that, i really do. However people like GabrielleJ response blatantly insinuating that i am a thief should not be allowed, i fail to see how slander is encouraged on a forum, posts like that just cause more negativity, bad feeling and upset, there was really no need for it - her opinion or not,
Yes i was upset and maybe (according to people not in the situation themselves) i over-reacted, but my point was that Shopbop need to see that faulty merchandise seems to be a regular occurence with them and obviously is not getting any better over the years, whether this was my first time shopping with them or my 25th remains the same - i don't expect to recieve shoddy goods, ESPECIALLY for the amount i paid! But what i was angry at was initially being ignored by them via e-mail and then being given what i consider to be poor customer service over live chat, i see everyday people making complaints about companies on these forums, but yet i was singled out for what feels like a group attack and nasty words said when there is no need for it, talk about kicking a dog when it is down...
But as reported above i now have recieved an e-mail response from them and i am happy with what they are offering, simple as that.
I do not like being called a thief and feel that mods should not allow those type of comments to remain that blackens somebodies name, ESPECIALLY as it looks like the user joined the forum for the intent purpose of being rude on my thread, i am guessing a Shopbop employee...

I'm glad everything worked out with your return. Hopefully you will find your dream bag somewhere!

However, perhaps you should heed your own advice above before starting a thread to rant and rave about something that can be easily fixed. You repeatedly stated that Shopbop has, on a number of occasions, refused to refund customers. That is LITERALLY accusing Shopbop of theft. So, while you are permitted to be upset if you thought another member was insinuating that you were a thief, you can accuse a company of being a thief because they won't refund you before they get the bag back? Especially since you hadn't even given Shopbop a chance to remedy the problem.

I don't think anyone meant to personally attack you. I think people were just a little startled about how viciously you attacked a company before even giving them a chance to fix it.

Good luck in your return and finding your bag! :)

Sorry you were disappointed with your bag. I know that Shopbop is a reputable company and has a great reputation. Dealing with the volume that they do, there are bound to be issues occasionally.

I have ordered from Shopbop many times and returned a few things too. I am in Canada so they do not supply return shipping labels. But, as long as I sent it tracked and insured I am covered either way. If the package is lost, the insurance will cover it and if it shows in the tracking that Shopbop received it, I assume they would have to cover it. That being said, I have never had a problem.

Also, by sending the government proof of return, they will reimburse my duty/customs fees - have you checked into that? All I've had to do is submit a copy of the postage receipt and the customs forms.

I see irony here.

OP, I hope it all works out for you.
