So I dropped off a bag yesterday at a nearby Fashion phile showroom and the representative told me that price quote could change after it gets reviewed at their main office in California - price quote could go LOWER or higher. I was quite taken a back by this statement because I thought the initial price quote was good enough for me to actually consider selling the bag to them. I’d be really pissed if they end up offering me a lower price quote - just the thought of my bag (in pristine like NEW condition) going from NYC to California and being touched by strangers then receiving a lower price quote in the end ANNOYS me!

It’s my first time ever to sell a purse so this experience with Fashion phile is all new to me. Did anyone experience getting a different price quote (lower or higher) for your bag after it was reviewed by the Fashion phile team in California?
Only once did this happen. The lining on a YSL bag I sold them several years ago had a small rip which I hadn’t noticed. They reduced the quote a small amount.
Not sure if this only happens to me, but everytime I resubmit a quote (for any item) I get a lower offer than the first time. Anyone else?
Not for me, my quote was low with virtual consultant, I then submitted the quote on line and received a higher quote
Same here; the quote was substantially higher 4 months later by online submission

Also the red 12A caviar $4800
These quotes are way too low. Try selling it yourself on Facebook groups or just hold onto it. I think jumbos and bigger sizes will make a come back after the mini trend. The quotes are low because jumbo/bigger bags are not in style. The 12A red got a better quote because it's one of the most coveted reds that Chanel made. Prettiest red with blue undertone. Fashionphile will most likely list it at way above current retail price.

Agree. And waiting for a jumbo size to come back into fashion just means your bag gets older and likely less desirable. Selling on your own can always eek out a bit more but there are so many risks that I can't see the upside to it either. I'd take the (white) quote and move on from the bag. The red is stunning, my heart would break to part with that one, but the price seems better given the more desirable color.
I think with Chanel new Sofia Coppola campaign all sizes for classics will be in high demand! I would hold off!

I have sold over so many bags to FASHIONPHILE and I have to say that when I get a low quote I wait a while then submit again. I have done it a few times and due to demand the quote goes up. Sometimes over 1k. Just hold on to it and try again. Look at seasons when you submit too as that might be a factor.
I don’t understand how they price their buy outs. I got a lot of low ball quotes before and once a decent buyout price. I was going to see how much they would quote my small caviar w ghw. I am considering going for a medium lamb instead ... I thought they would probably quote well... it’s outrageous they quoted it for a price of a mini (tax included) and it is a 30 series!

It is strange. I got $4700 for my mini, which was above my expectations. With the 10% additional Neiman bonus and another bag that I didn’t use and sold to them, I was able to get a small classic. I am really happy with the exchange.

I got the same for a mini too it was in a color I was too afraid to use and was also offered 4700 so I figured they would offer more since it’s not easy to find the black small classic flap w/ ghw... maybe not meant to be... I’ll stick with my small.

Was that for a new or slightly used? Can I ask when you submitted it? I heard the quote always depends on the time of year you submit.

I’ve also had it happen that after an item I’ve submitted expires I resent that item and it comes back super quick with the same price quoted before. So I’m not sure if they’re trying to change something?
