Quota Bag Thread

Hi everyone. This is my first post and a question please. I had a fabulous experience at my local H store last week when I went to spend some bday money on a belt and some shoes. The assistant SM was helping me initially and was also showing my some bags (primarily Evelyne). She offered to show me something truly special and took me aside to show me the most beautiful Constance in green exotic (not sure if croc or alligator?). It was spectacular and spoken for but such a treat to see!!! Anyway. She asked if I had an SA that I work with, and inquired as to whether I'd like to start a list for a Birkin. I said I did not have anyone currently, so she paired me with one who is amazing and ultimately I ended up putting 2 different Vert Verone Bs on my list (the SA actually suggested we expand the list to include a 30 in Epsom partly because she knows they ordered one). Truthfully I wasn't anticipating anyone offering me to start a list because there are so many stories out there where that doesn't happen. So just getting to even discuss it was lovely.

My question is, would it be reasonable for me to ask to add to this list with some additional neutral selections? I've already passed on the Evelyne as it is just not right for me and definitely am looking to add a neutral bag at some point (though in no rush). In all my reading the etiquette seems to vary so I don't want to be pushy. But the SA was pretty adamant that she wants me to be happy and to not buy anything I don't love. She even discussed we could expand to Kelly because of the shoulder strap, but I haven't asked yet. I greatly appreciate your input!

I don’t see anything wrong with asking politely, don’t be shy. My store has a 1 colour, 1 bag policy for the semester wishlist but I always extend to 3-4 and various models/sizes. In the end your SA might offer you something similar anyway, they don’t necessarily offer the exact wishlist specs. Good luck!

Thank you so much- I really appreciate the feedback. I hoped having a wider range of choices would help my chances so I'm glad to know giving her some options to be a good thing!!! And I've seen several people comment that the SAs aren't mind readers!

I walked in to boutiques at Amsterdam and Brussels recently. Both indicated no bags at all. I wonder if Hermes now only sells to regular. Your experience?

I sent my son to those stores about a week ago. I wanted two non-quota bags. Brussels said no but Amsterdam was very interested in selling to him -- I just didn't want the colors offered.

Benelux on same system and quota bags available only to local customers via wish list; waiting times vary but I have the impression it's within a year unless very rare specs

Non quota bags i think depends on availability and if they've already been declined by locals.

Thank you. I wasn’t even looking for quota bags. Was hoping to get Lindy, picotin or halzan.

What is the current rule is US about quota bags is it semisters or 2 a year I have heard both. Anyone know. TIA
One per semester so technically two per year. It’s important to point out that it is one per semester because you can get one right after another if you get one at the end of the semester.

I’m sure there are exceptions to the rule. Some families also have multiple accounts.

My sm told me that they’re changing the quota system. Instead of 1 bag every half year, it’s 2 for the entire year regardless of when you purchase. She said it’s because things don’t always arrive on time, so it’s to accommodate people’s wishlists!
I got the same message last month. Just two bags per year now anytime.
