That is a very good post. It shows that you have done your homework very well.
Unfortunately you have already learnt that there are no certainties.
You understand that there is no set purchase history to bag offer ratio.
You have picked up the warning of not allowing yourself to be played with hint of a bag if you spend a bit more and more and more . . .
The following probably sums up what you have already realised. Nonetheless . . .
It really does seem important that you genuinely have enthusiasm for Hermes
and understand what the options might be.
Be friendly and likeable to all the staff, not just your favoured SA.
Be yourself and be upfront about your goal and do not expect any SA to be a mind reader.
Avoid an attitude of entitlement.
I hope you will get some PMs with good leads.

I personally think it’s about how the asA connects with you. So you could very well get a referral to someone’s SA and you go in and work with them but it’s not a match. Plain and simple you just have to walk in wait to be approached and treat them kindly and don’t be afraid to turn down what you don’t want. Show somebody love for the brand as a whole.

This is so true. There are no guarantees with Hermes.
That is part of the "orange chase" for many of us (me included)

Without veering too far off topic, I would just like to add that sometimes it's not just about who you shop with but what you shop for... =) AKA "Birkin bait"...

I know it depends on the SA and more senior SAs have more power than newer ones. But generally as a store I have heard the spend ratio at South Coast Plaza is higher than most. A lot of owners seem to dislike the vibe there. I would imagine Beverly Hills to have pretty high spend ratios due to the wealthy area. Las Vegas is getting up there as well though it seems hit or miss. I have not heard much about San Diego.

I honestly don’t think it depends much on the SA, but much more on the SM. Ultimately it’s the SM that decides which SA gets which bag to offer to which client. B/K/C allotments are made to each store based on the total sales of said store. They are then offered to clients who have helped that store meet its sales goals. Thus, it all comes down to the client’s profile and the SA’s ability to provide evidence to the SM that you, their client, should be offered a particular bag. The bigger stores get more bags but they also have more big spenders so it all evens out.

Regardless, I don’t think there is a shortcut when it comes to getting a B/K 25 from the store and there aren’t certain SAs with magical B25 supplies. Be prepared to spend at least 1:1 (and honestly closer to 2:1), preferably in fine jewelry or RTW, before being offered anything of that coveted size in the stores listed (ie. not Paris where they’ll sell to anyone)

BH has lots of tourist traffic and inquiries but they seem to reserve good stock for regular customers. The atmosphere on the 3rd floor where home furnishing and dining wares are is more relaxing, and I know for sure that the sales on the 3rd floor have the same power to decide on whether to sell you the bags. So I suggest to avoid busy traffic on the first and second floors and find a senior sales on the 3rd floor to talk about your need. Good luck!

Hello TPF,

I have been reading the Birkin FAQs and spent a lot of time reading what knowledge owners have given. This has been a great forum. I am located in California and have not bought anything major from Hermes. The stores I am closest to are South Coast Plaza, Beverly Hills, and San Diego. Las Vegas is also pretty close by. I have owned many luxury brands and now am trying to buy my first Birkin or Kelly. Either or works fine. I just prefer a size 25 since that works best for me. Unfortunately, I have heard this is the hardest size to get. I have heard that in order to buy one, typically you have to establish a purchase history or fly to the FSH, which I am not ready to do yet. I have read that certain SAs and depending on the store, can have anywhere from a 1:1 to a 2:1 ratio. So to buy a basic leather Birkin bag, you must spend anywhere from $10-20k. But it seems like it is random as well. Some owners have said that they have spent tens of thousands and still have not been offered Birkin bags while others have said that they have spent a few thousand ($2-5k) and have been offered a Birkin bag.

I would like to understand from the owners who have SAs at South Coast Plaza, Beverly Hills San Diego or Las Vegas (Bellagio, Crystal, Wynn), if there are certain SAs you have had a great experience with and if you wouldn't mind, what you had to spend in order to get the bag you want. If you would like to PM me instead of posting, that is fine. Finding a reasonable and easy going and upfront SA who doesn't make you spend like crazy is what I am trying to connect with. Establishing a purchase history is ok, but I really don't want to spend tens of thousands and still not be offered anything. Thanks in advance for those who can help.
Go top Mandy at Las Vegas Wynn!!! She's very helpful.

I was there 3 weeks ago and I actually inquired, the SA said that it's harder to obtain birkins and Kelly's because they have tons of steady customers who are very rich and famous (Hollywood) and they are always offered first.

I heard south coast is pretty bad experience to deal with also. Some have said Vegas is the lowest spend ratio and generally the easiest to get those quota bags. Although not sure which of the 3 are easiest or which SAs everyone likes.
Im from Vegas! Per my SA, their customers are mostly tourists, very few locals like me get the chance to buy holy grail bags.

Hi all, I have a question regarding if KP is counted as quota bags.
As I remember, both KP and KC in regular leather are not considered quota.
But last week my SA told me KC in regular leather is not quota but KP is.
Can someone verify that? Is the policy changed?

Still not quota in my USA based store...but each store is free to have its own rules.

Yeo, not in my US (Vegas) boutique. I bought a birkin and KP same day, same profile.
