Question? Do you wear your wedding ring on the outside or inside?

Since DF says I can't wear my wedding band til the wedding (sooooo mean!) I have been playing with them together. Right now, it's more comfortable to wear my ering closer to my hand, then my wedding band on top. My wedding band is thicker and doesn't nestle into the thinner area at the bottom of my finger as well as my ering does. I have always heard the wedding band was supposed to be worn closest to your heart, and I also like the way my particular set looks that way. I'm going to try wearing my wedding band then my ering on top. I have a feeling I'll get used to it quickly. Shouldn't be toooo hard to get accustomed to wearing more diamonds, right???

Ultimately, I say do what you want!

I only wear my wedding band, its never come off since the day it was put on, so if i was to wear another ring with it, it would have to go on top. I'm never taking my wedding ring off.

I think that is very cool that you've never taken your wedding ring off! That is very special and all the more reason to wear the band on the inside of the e-ring (which I've always seen done to have it closest to the heart).

generally, its supposed to be wedding ring closes to the heart but for security reasons I think many do the opposite like Elizat pointed out.

My mom does it opposite. Band on top, e-ring on bottom. However, it is for security, I think. Her last e-ring slipped off and was never found. Her band prevents this issue.

Do what you like though, I think it is just a personal thing.

Wedding ring on bottom with engagement ring on top. Like you said, wedding ring is closest to your heart! But, really, it's just personal preference!! Some people don't even wear their engagement rings after they're married - I have a friend who stopped wearing her diamond solitaire after she had a child because she didn't want to scratch her baby! So, she later bought a new wedding band that had several diamonds in it and wears that all of the time.

i have another question.....how does your e-ring and wedding band fit....my e-ring is a little loose but its winter here and my jeweler said to wait til it gets a little warmer out and see how it fts and then if its still big we could size it...and i dont have my wedding band yet because its being made but how should that fit too???

Hi! You are right...the band closest to the heart but after twenty years of marriage I have been known to shift them around. Sometimes my engagement ring spins around and the band helps anchor it and add security. I would hate to lose the engagement ring......As a sidenote, I wore my band a good year before I took it off....I wanted it to remain on my finger from when he had placed it at the altar.....like I said, now its a free for all.....

I like all of my rings to slip on and off without having to use lotion or soap, but not too loose that I'm afraid of losing them when my hands are cold! My engagement ring is a 1/4 size smaller than my wedding band because I wanted to make sure that on cold days, I won't lose either one! Also, since the stone is my engagement ring is set high, I don't like it when that ones spins - I want it to sit on the top of my finger all the time.

They have new bands that are shaped like a |_| so it wont spin. normally the e-ring is tighter since its the most expensive. I think when i get a wedding band and ring i will use the band for an *anchor* so it will be sized smaller. 1/4 sounds about right.
