Sorry, not that familiar with it, but here 2 sites that showed when I googled not. Not sure if you've come across it or not: http://stylepacifica.blogspot.co.uk/2007/06/mings-jewelry-honolulu.html

http://community.qvc.com/forums/jewelry-talk/topic/94493/mings-of-honolulu.aspx

It gives some info about the company (which is no longer in business) and shows lots of lovely photos.

Thanks for responding and for looking up those links.

I think I had only seen the second one before.

Oh my ladies! You have inspired me to get out my jade. Here are a few pictures! The pendant is an older piece, I bought it in NYC in the 1980s at an antique show. The pair of clips I wear as earrings and I bought those also at an antique show about 20 years ago. Will load some other pictures in a few minutes.

Here are some more pictures. Another picture of the carved clips. In the next pictures, the ring on the left is an antique from the 1930s. I think that jade is pretty fine quality. The ring on the right I bought from Gump's in SF in the 1990s. They used to be known for having exquisite jade - not sure if they still do. I don't think the bracelet is top quality jade but it's got a nice look and it is untreated as far as I know. I bought from a local jeweler who takes in jewelry on consignment. Part 3 of pictures coming up!

I realize this thread was for bangles so sorry for going off on a tangent but I got all worked up about jade now! :D:D Doesn't the bracelet look cool with the watch? I guess I should post that in the "stacking" thread.

I know this thread is really just about bangles, but I never knew this much about jade before and I would love to share my piece. This pendant was left to me by my DH's grandmother as an engagement gift. She left 2 of them for her 2 grandsons' future wives. She was an amazing woman and I'm honored to have her jewelry. I don't know much about the piece or the quality, but it has sentimental value for me and I love wearing it.

Hi, really need some advice. My sister in law's mum got some jade bangles and asked me to choose which one I like. Can someone advice which one I should choose? Which is a good quality one?

Which one? 1st or 2nd one??

I bought mine in Guangzhou about 7 years ago.
It is very snug, taking it on & off, on my right wrist. but comfortable on my left...I try to wear mine all the time, but I can't even manage to wear my wedding band all the time. (much to my spouse's annoyance.)

I love my bangle.
I can't really judge quality from a photo. And some of the value, aside from color and translucency, is just personal preference. I think the most coveted is the deeper green, but I'm very fond of the white with green ribbons.

men's wearing bangle jade???
Most of the men who wear jade bangles prefer to wear them on their non-dominant wrist so that it gets less activity. Many women, including me, also wear their jade bangles on non-dominant wrists.

Most jade bangles for men are quite large size, usually starting at 65mm inside diameter. It's often difficult to find a good quality jade in this size, because the large sizes require more jade and a larger piece of the rough and therefore they are more expensive. Ying Yu Jade had Chinese jade carved especially for us in a large man's size so a man can purchase a good quality jade at a reasonable price, and have the good green classic color.

Reinita;
If you're looking for an online jadeite seller, I would recommend "Ultimate Jadeite". They have stores on eBay and Etsy. Also, they have 100% money back guarantee if you find out the jade is not grade A jade :)

I've personally bought from them already and their customer service is excellent! In fact, I just received my bangle in the mail today. I bought it on Monday and it came today (Thursday) via FedEx.

I've included some photos!

Looks great! I bought from them before. Agree that their customer service is good. But mine was a relatively cheap fun piece so while it is pretty, it doesnt look as nice as yours. : )

:p Yes, I've bought a cheaper one from them beforehand as well. I'm pretty sure they sell 100% genuine grade A jadeite :)

The cheaper ones are pretty as well! I have one for everyday wear (when I'm working and whatnot) :D
