My friends bought me a very pretty lady bug purse hook and when I use a short handled bag and there is no extra chair then I use the hook. One day I used it on my Marc Jacobs shoulder bag. Of course the bag was on the floor because of the strap but I thought what the heck at least it is within my sight. For the first time in my life the waitress accidently dumped my entire breakfast on the floor and everything landed face down and I swear thoseeggs were less than an inch from my bag when they came to rest. I grabbed the bag and it was still clean and the mess was picked up right away. I did not get mad at the waitress because it was an accident but I thought, boy, the first time I have a bag on the floor this happens. For the rest of the meal my bag was in my lap.
Lucky! When the strap is long I usually hang it off one of the metal rings on either side that are used to attach the strap to the bag.
