Newbie to tfp. I didn't know about Clipa and just got The Hook Up in gold . It's a very cute heart shape that I just hang on the straps of my purse. Doesn't even look like a purse hanger at all...way too cute. I used it to hang my purse and my sis-in-law's purse that very evening. It was awesome...never thought I'd say that about a purse hanger! Needless to say she's going to get a Hook Up too. It's definitely a spurge and the Clipa is more reasonable. But if looks are what you want then the Hook Up is the way to go (seems to be quality too).

I leave the Clipa attached to the bag strap. that way I can always find it.

I just got back from a family luncheon event and we were seated at long crowded tables without a lot of room between chairs or tables. I used my brushed gold clipa to hang my Black Patent Coach Kristin Pleated Satchel comfortably next to me. The woman sitting to the right of me put her Louis Vuitton bag on the floor! The woman sitting across from me did the same with her Vera Bradley bag.

Purse hooks are amazing! Except for when I push them off the table on accident... maybe I should be more careful haha.
LOL I do the same thing with my purse hooks! I change bags way too often & I always forget to move the purse hook. Countless times I needed my purse hook only to realize that I forgot to put it in my purse
OK after reading some of this thread and learning of the Clipa. I watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAN0VyI2pYs & I've decided that I have to get one of these 
I already have a purse hook, but I have only used it once. To be honest, it might look pretty, but it just sits at the bottom of my purse and since it is not seen, I always forget to use it. So, after all the reviews I decided to splurge and get The Hookup, since it can hang off the bag, allowing me to have easier access to it. Of course, it just looks too cute! Can't wait till it arrives!
I have 2 clipas, gold and silver, so when I change bags I put the matching clipa in of a pocket inside the bag. I put the other one in a consistent spot in one of my drawers, the same drawer where I keep the keyfobs I use to decorate my bags. That makes it pretty easy to remember to change clipas when I change bags.
I love my purse hooks. The first one I got came inside of a BCBG bag. I was really puzzled on what to do with it. Eventually I figured it out. I started using it all the time, but of course I would leave it in the wrong bag all the time.
I purchased another one. One of those wrap around ones from amazon. Unfortunately, it was awful and broke after one use.
I grabbed a cute on from target, and now I keep it in a pouch that I typically bring in all bags. I recently picked up another one, but it hasn't seen the light of day yet.
I have never been one to put my purse on the floor. Or in my lap. I typically use a chair or put it on the back of one. Sometimes I feel really paranoid about the bag being on the back of a chair, so the purse hook comes in handy!

I think purse hook can come across as bougie. Which isn't always a bad thing. Purse hooks aren't all the common especially in use.
