I have the polished silver clipa..I LOVE it!! Its so easy to use and you can just stick it in your bag.

I agree with those who mentioned using the Clipa in bathrooms.I hate using public bathrooms, and I would Never set my bag anywhere in one.:nono::sick:

My SIL gave me a really pretty one and I have it in my purse, but have only pulled it out to use on occasion. It does seem silly to have your purse tangle off the side of the restaurant table. I wished I used it more though, but I tend to always forget.

It's not weird but I don't think enough people know about it. I get kind of scared to hang it on the side though, I feel like someone could snatch it up and run away with my precious bags! ><

I think it is a bit safer to have my bag in front of me rather than hanging on the back of the chair where I can't see it. Someone could lift my wallet pretty easily.

I usually don't use the purse hook to hang it on the outside edge of the table, I hang it right next to me on the same side that I am sitting at, just off to my right (or left) arm.

I have something similar to the clipa but it looks like a bangle (worn on a wrist). It undoes like the clipa and twists. I also have a gold more traditional purse hook. I don't really use either one.

Great, let us know how you like it! I was just using mine on the train ride home from work. I suspended my bag from the back of the seat in front of me. So I didn't have to hold it on my lap and it left my hands free to read my book and enjoy eating an apple!

I will :smile1: I actually really could have used one today! I was at the doctor's office and twice had to put my bag on the ground. That Clipa can't come soon enough

Just a thought.....never ever set your bag on the floor and then put it on a kitchen counter, table, etc. where food, utensils, that sort of thing can come in contact with all the germs that's carried on the bottom of the bag.
(For the life of me, I can't remember where I read that. It might have been on this forum)

I had bought a couple of sets to give as little stocking stuffers for some colleagues. (QVC used to sell the ones that fold flat, in a set of 3, each with its own little drawstring bag. Don't know if they still carry or not.) I've never seen any of the ladies actually use their's, but I use mine. The ones that I bought had little paisleys on them, so they weren't hideous or anything, but I guess they weren't a hit either, so I don't try to gift these any more.)

I don't know about that. The first purse hook I got was a favor at a wedding shower and at the time I wasn't into designer bags and I thought "what the heck am I supposed to do with this dumb thing?" I brought it home and threw it into a drawer and forgot all about it.

But after I started carrying expensive bags I became very protective of them. The first time I was in a situation where there was no safe place to set my bag I was horrified at the thought of putting it on the floor and I held it in my lap the whole long, uncomfortable time. As soon as I got home I dug out that purse hook and carried it with me always and used it!

I used it one time when I was out to lunch with 3 friends and they were all carrying nice bags but they looked at me oddly when I pulled out my purse hook - that prompted me to start this thread "Are purse hooks weird?" but since then I have seen one of these ladies using a purse hook of her own!

Now I use the more versatile and better quality Clipa hooks and I don't care if they are weird! I use them a lot on my train commute and I have received questions about them from other female passengers. I may be starting a new trend!

So I am glad that I got that first hook as a gift and that it was there when I needed it!

Yes, purse 'hooks' in general really aren't that useful - the ones that magnetically fold flat, or the other type (I have one of those, given as a gift, and I've never used it) - it wasn't until somebody did a thread here about the different types that I found out about the Clipa, and it certainly fills ALL the needs one could have for handbag placement. :D
