I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

I am "devasted" that MM was shut out of the coronation.

It must be hard to see the neighbors going to the party of the year (decade?) at the in-laws house and having to stay home.

It strikes me as a bit odd that there are no big name British performers. Two Americans and a British boy band from the 90s is the best they could do?

The truth is simple: she wanted the outfit and a tiara like Kate and other royal ladies will wear, she wanted to have her kids in the Abbey like the Waleses ( and I don't think Louis will be there either) Not getting what she wanted made it pointless for her to attend.

All true but I think she also wanted control over her seating location. She didn’t want to be the butt of jokes and memes yet again when the BRF stuck her behind yet another giant candle and placed people directly behind to watch the grifters like a hawk.

Of course, we know that. Reasons, she has several (tiara, seating location, boos, Frogmore…) but then again too many to mention.

I appreciate the sentiment but he really shouldn’t compare Hakimi‘s case to Harry’s, they are very different. Isn’t Hakimi an accused rapist? His wife filed for divorce and Hakimi has all of his assets in accounts in his mother’s name to keep his wife from getting anything.

His wife may be a gold digger, I don’t know much about them. However, she is not the one who is being accused by a girl of rape. I don’t have any sympathy for a grown man who hides his money with his mommy to get out of a divorce settlement. If I am missing relevant information in the story, someone let me know!

I think he is going because he knows he would look awful if he didn’t, and that would be the last of the burned bridges he has already turned to ash.
I also think that somewhere deep inside he may regret the path he chose. Surely, by now he has realized the grass isn’t greener. Although he has said he doesn’t like England, there is no way he feels more at home in the States.
After the initial euphoria of meeting and marrying someone, things do settle down and you are left with the person, minus the fog of new love.
Imagine waking up to her, at a point where she no longer feels the need to be nice to him, to put it that way.
I do believe he is wanting to leave one last string attached to Britain.

That, and the fact that if he’s not associated with the BRF, he’s just a ginger haired, unintelligent, spoiled brat of a man child.

I think she was invited. Both were probably invited. Even in the non-royal world usually spouses are invited together to events such as weddings etc as a matter of etiquette. I think she is bowing out due to some perceived slight. She does not need to stay with the children. There are sitters/nannies for that. He is going of course so he can scowl and have more fodder for future books/podcasts/interviews to whine about Meghan being slighted somehow.

The children have never stopped her nor been a consideration going anywhere before.

I think the article in the Daily Mail pegged it correctly. It said that she was told that she would have to curtsy to Camilla, Catherine and Sophie. To Meghan that was a humiliation that she would not stand for. It was a setup so that she could be invited along with Harry, but also a guarantee that she would not show up.

Exactly. What I think is more interesting are the stories that when Meghan relaunches herself, it will not only be to separate herself from the Royal family, but Harry as well. I want to see how she is going to do this whilst at the same time using the title she has courtesy of her husband and the Royal family. I want to see how she finesses using the title given by the same people who so called oppressed her. She talks about being authentic? Using the title is not authentic.
