Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

at what age did he do this? I know it's cruel and wrong but kids can be cruel. I think a lot of people (if not most) have been on both sides of bullying
It was while he was at Ludgrove, aged 8 to 13 and old enough to know better. It was not a one off, it was a pattern of behavior done deliberately to make his mates laugh at her. He claims she laughed. Bullocks, she was probably dying inside and trying not to cry. His description is mean spirited and, including her name, she would be easily identified. It was many years ago and I frankly hope she is not alive to have to read this, and if she has family, they have been spared seeing his denigration of a loved one.

His callousness is compounded in writing about it. A man of honor would have matured and come to recognize his cruelty, feel shame, remorse, and hope such behavior stayed buried. Instead as an adult male, he thinks he was so cutely cheeky in entertaining his friends he puts it out there expecting us to chuckle at his antics. :cursing: That he cannot fathom casually describing his disgusting behavior says really derogatory things about “the man he has become” is disturbing to me.

If I were some of the maimed participants in Invictus, I would question his sincerity and wonder if disfigurements and impairment seen in the Games are the source of joking to him now, as Pat’s were then. He certainly doesn’t exhibit any maturity.

This is exactly how I feel about it too, he is a deeply disturbed and disturbing piece of sh*t

We all do things we regret as children, but that is what shows maturity: we REGRET our stupidity at a younger age, and try to make amends. Haz seems to have no regret about his behavior at all, and worse, it's like he's bragging when he's almost 40 years old about tormenting another human! A bit of a sociopath maybe?

It makes me wonder if the ghostwriter disliked Harry by the time the book was almost done. Moehringer could easily have written that episode in a way to make him sound empathetic about it today. He didn’t though.

Seeing he is not even 40 and describes her as young she probably is in her 50s today. Several of my teachers who were not in their 20s when I graduated highschool are still teaching at my old school.

But I agree with everything else you said, reading his description made me hurt so much for her and I do not understand how nobody - not her boss, not maybe some parent whose son mentioned it at home, because not all children are cruel by nature - stood up for her. I would have punished those little sh*ts so hard.

I think this could absolutely be true and Harry the self absorbed idiot that he is hasn’t realised he’s been trolled all along !
