Hi ladies,

Im am trying to purchase a 10C Bleu Roi (love this color) but the owner says its damaged. And the leather looks a little worn out and discoloured. Do any of you know if the leather can be worked on? I called the Toronto Boutiques and they said they dont touch the leather but I'm hoping they do in the states :) TIA

It depends on what the damage is. Is it the caviar version? Do you have photos? There is no generic answer without information. :)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and it's so true. So this bag would need a complete refurbishment, from redye to hardware replacement, so you are looking at nearly $600 for that. The creases will still be there at the top (I don't know what this person did to this bag in 4 short years, but they really abused it). There are spots where the dye looks bleached out and others with darkened areas. Look at the grommet with the peeling, etc. The strap leather is also not in great shape. Maybe this isn't the rehab project you thought it would be. Maybe it is. But that bag needs the works, and it won't come back looking brand new due to the creases.

ETA: Upon second viewing, I don't think the grommets are peeling, I think the bag has been "dyed" in a not so wonderful way, and after that, Chanel won't touch it. This bag is one to walk away from.

Would Chanel fit a longer strap on a flap bag or will they only replace as original?

I have a small jersey flap but don't use it that much. It would be great to gave the strap ling enough to wear cross body and I know I would use it far more

No, Chanel would not fit a longer strap onto a flap bag; they only replace like with like (same color, same length).

Thank you Tutu..Im glad I asked for your advice. I would of broke my heart if I payed $2XXX and Chanel wouldn't touch it..thanks again

I just wonder if any of you had the chains replaced? I just phoned Chanel on a 1992 camera bag that was my moms, the all gold chain strap broke but Chanel said it would be around $300 at least if they can even match it. Seems high for just a chain or is that normal?

You could repair it even you purchased overseas. They will check the piece to make sure it is authentic before they do any service, if it is found fake, they will refuse to service it. However, if it is authentic piece, they will service it even you no longer have the reciept or receive it as a gift.

I have a missing crystal on my earrings and they said it costs USD$85 to replace one! The earrings was only ~$300 and the cost of one tiny crystal is insane! I purchased it over 1 yr which no longer qualify for the free repair. Does anyone has the same situation too? I wonder where I could replace the missing crystal at a much cheaper price.

Wow.. I sent 2 necklaces and 1 ring for repair on 2 occasions and wasn't charged a single cent in singapore.. They didn't even ask for receipt.. For necklaces was replacement for crystals and for ring was 1 pearl dropped and they replaced a new pearl for me... It took about 1 and half month though for each repair but I wasn't charged at all, I used th necklace for almost 2 years..

Hello I have a beige chanel bag that's I changed its color to black And it kept staining my clothes now I want to change the leather please help me with contacts or an email I can contact to change the leather if possible! Thanks

Just took my GST into Neiman Marcus for a total refurbishment. It looks like Chanel increased the prices again. Hope it's worth it. This is my first bag needing a refurb since I use it almost everyday.

Wow $610 for a total refurb? Would it be similar in Europe? Please can you post pics before/after, very curious to see!

Yep, that was my reaction too. My guess is the price will be the same everywhere but I'm not certain. I forgot to take before pics as I ran the bag in during my lunch break today but I will most certainly take after pics. It is pretty bent up now from shoving it under airplane seats and the grommets were all poking through the caviar. I decided on a total refurb but I've asked them to keep the original lining since it's not that bad and it's black. I just hope she comes back looking new.

These look pretty much to be the prices from the increase last summer. They doubled the cost of spa services as so many were buying sad bags off eBay, then having Chanel refurbish them, & the person would just "flip" them as they do houses. This service was never intended for the secondary market but rather as a service for Chanel customers. I still am lamenting that they didn't have a way to "grandfather" in faithful Chanel store purchasers so we'd not have to pay the same as resellers.
