It had the same slouch as shown in the current photo but they stiffened it up a tiny bit. I was told that they probably wouldn't be able to fix that so that's not the issue. My main concern is that the caviar is not shiny like it was when I brought it in. It looks like they dyed it which was never discussed. I just wanted the bag cleaned. Unfortunately, I don't have the bag with me at the moment but the grommets had pushed through the original holes in the caviar so they were hanging, no longer attached. Now it looks as though the replacements are loose, they are not closed all the way down into the leather. I'm not happy at all with the work that was done. Now I'm starting to think I should have just put that money toward a new bag. :nogood:

Unless you asked for it to be redyed, I don't see why they'd do that. Was it scraped or rubbed in any places that might make them think a redye was necessary? You might want to bring up all of your points to NM, since they seem to have a more liberal policy than Chanel does, and let them know that you are extremely unhappy and would like to have the payment for the refurbishment go toward the purchase price of a new bag. It doesn't hurt to try; they just might let you do that. I know you mentioned that you were thinking to buy a new one instead of the refurbishment anyway, so that might be the best solution.

I would recommend sending it somewhere else. Not only are these prices outrageous, but the work is not good. Not what I would expect from Chanel.

I sent my White single flap caviar jumbo last year, and resulted to re-done the job. When I first pick up the flap, it didn't meet my expectation. So I ask them to re-do the job, which they did and only charge me once. So I recommend to inspect the bag before take home. I also agree that after they re-do the job, the leather isn't as shinny as before. The leather is hard.

There may have been some rubbing on the bottom but redyeing was never discussed. I would have asked questions to be sure the caviar would look the same had I known it would be dyed. I will go ahead and ask if they will let me put that money toward a new bag. You're right, it can't hurt to try. Thank you.

Did the leather ever get shiny again? I'm so unhappy with the look of it right now. Especially because it's black.

Does anyone know if Chanel can redye patent leather?
I have this beautiful neon yellow wallet that is stained with black marks.
There's absolutely no way it could be cleaned so I was just wondering if they could redye it to black or something :(

Nobody can redye patent leather. Once it's got transfer marks or stains, they are there.

I got a Reissue bag from Neiman Marcus awhile ago..
When i called NM. They just told me it'll be easier to just bring it to any Chanel Boutique for repair.Few Stiches in the back actually come loose..
Anyone know how much it'll be to fix this?

LADIES! I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but it should help you all and PLEASE spread the word! Fate put me in contact with the company Chanel outsources their repairs to, and they are open to the public! They are an AWESOME family business and so warm and helpful! They work for my business and I've been sending them all my brands, I plan on sending 15 of my babies in as soon as I can afford to. I don't think they would work directly for Chanel customers, but they do amazing work for stores and other brands. I have shipped a blue perforated jumbo in and will post before and afters soon! I anticipate 3 weeks or less for everything I send in. They have the best communication and I'll attach a few before and after pics! I am so glad I found them, and I can help all you dolls get reasonable prices on your repairs! Contact info is as follows:

I had been the Chanel repair facility for approximately 30+ years. So when they sent out your repair work it came here. They’ve restructured their repair facilities. But for all that time I was the official Chanel Repair center. I still do repair work for boutiques on Chanel as well as other brands.

Does anyone know if the total refurbish package include relining and is it still the same price as the quote on page 1? I'm looking at a bag on eBay that has a very sticky interior and would need to have the lining replaced.

edit: nevermind, read a couple pages back and saw that a total refurb is $600.

Hello everyone!

I am unsure what can or cannot be fixed if a bag is brought in to the boutique. I am eyeing a vintage jumbo flap online which aside from some light hardware scratching has some noted wear on the corners & I am unsure if there is a stain on the inside (I did not clarify this with the seller). Can any of you ladies please take a look below & let me know if these are things that can be taken care of & how much it would set me back? Or is there any DIY-style at home fix for any of these? Please do me know :)
