Price Increase 2016

The price increase is inevitable as the Euro declines coupled with negative deposit interest rate. There might not be an increase in prices in the UK as (1) the Bank of England is keeping inflation rate to remain at 2% and (2) the £ is very strong and is the strongest CCY.

The problem with € is that it isnt pegged to the US$.

We trade currencies everyday at BarCap so I know this for a fact :smile1:

A lot of people doesnt know that you can actually reclaim 15% of any goods you bought in the UK if you do not live in the UK/Euro. This means if you spend £7k on a bag in the UK, you will reclaim £1k of that back!

Happy shopping all!
It's 15% tax refund for H in the UK when it's 10% in France? Hmmm I may have to rethink my policy of only shopping in Eurozone.....

VAT here is 20%, in the UK, minus commission, VAT refund is around 13%-16% depending on the amount purchased. I am surprised to hear refund is only 10% in France. Do they really charge that much commission in France?

They do! But I think you are right, it's still cheaper.....however I might stop COMPLETELY avoiding the London stores :giggles:

As a poor excuse for staying on topic, I will note that this new Euro increase has narrowed the price difference enough that I don't feel guilty shopping in the US anymore :D

To clear up any confusion, H in Europe uses Global Blue for tax refunds, and their policy is for 12% refund on any purchase regardless of the amount (not 100% sure about UK).
