Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

I don't think all the cloth tags have been replaced with leather. I bought a Speedy B 25 last August that had one. The date code indicated it had been made recently. I was really bummed when I saw it. I ended up returning it and buying the bag in Paris.

Before the cloth tag, I didn't care where my items were made.

My speedy b was made 36th week of 2015 and has the cloth tag as well. I was put off by that but the bag is impeccable. No zipper gaps, smooth leather throughout, strong sturdy canvas..I'm a happy camper and rather have a well constructed bag regardless where it's made 😍

The cloth tag has been gone for ahwile. The tag is now leather. I honestly feel TPF made that happen! The leather tag looks much better.

I just saw a neverfull with the cloth tag last week...maybe the bag has been there awhile now. I have the leather tag "made in usa" in my totally and I still don't care for it. its not clothing its a purse! lol

I purchased a neo neverfull mm mono two weeks ago and the first one (MIU), came damaged and my replacement (MIU) came with an opened box that was not taped or anything. Dirty dust cover and all. This didn't settle well with me so I contacted client services to try to find one that was not MIU. I ended up contacting St. Thomas and they had three MIF- so they are sending it to the states. I am an owner of many pieces and I find the MIU to be not as satisfactory now a days.

All my LVs are made in France, maybe because I bought them all in Germany and France is closest :) . But are there any differences at all (except for the MIF)? They should all have the same quality, no? ;)

Hoping someone (whether it's jadastormy or not) can confirm the bolded statement? I'm asking because I just received a bag from lv.com and it has a cloth tag. According to the date code it was manufactured in Jan. 2016 (MIU).

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

Thank you so much for replying!!! I just got a little nervous b/c I thought all the tags were leather now, but then I figured there was no way I'd get a fake through the official website. Thanks again for putting my mind at ease! :D

i guess i'm the only one, but it makes me sad to see americans who hope their bags aren't made in the u.s.

I understand the heritage aspect, but the u.s. Has plenty of qualified craftspeople, i'm sure, and i appreciate that lv has 'outsourced' to the u.s., where labor tends to be very expensive.

If people have such a problem with the cloth, why don't they just cut it off???

Nope I was wrong! I hadn't seen them for awhile so I thought they were phased out. Sorry!

That would look worse! And as someone else mentioned, it's needed for authenticity purposes. I've seen bags where people cut out the date code and I wouldn't buy them. They may very well be authentic, but why would you do that to a $$$ bag??

IMO, if someone hates the tag, they should hold out for one without it, or go preloved.
