Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

I like bags "made in USA". I actually prefer them, but I am not happy about the "of imported goods/materials" tag that has been showing up. I've heard from several reliable sources that some of the hardware is coming from parts of Asia. I don't like that at all...because I have no idea if those workers are being paid high wages, which they should be. I want every part of the bag manufactured in the USA and for a fare wage. If LV did that, I would go out of my way to buy "made in USA" LV.

Some ladies really like their pieces to be "made in France". That's fine too. Its much easier to do that if you purchase while abroad in Europe...AND you get the tax back. Win/Win!!

I understand your concern. As a former employee I can say LV hardware is not made in China.

That makes me feel a little better. Thanks. =)
...Do you know where the recent hardware/materials are coming from?

Some of the hardware is actually made in France.
But honestly I don't know if all of it is. I do know that in SA technical training, you are made aware that zero part of an LV bag is manufactured in China or India. This is in response to a rumor launched in the early 2000s. At the time LVMH developed plans for a shoe factory in India. The plans were abandoned.

I honestly don't look or give it a second thought. The other day I was using my Emilie and I opened it as my husband was next to me and he said, "does that say made in Spain? I thought it was all made in France!" It was the first time I noticed where it was made despite it being prominently emblazoned on the inner flap! It just isn't something that even registers in my mind and I never look for codes or any of that. I look only at the craftsmanship, how things are holding up and I admire their beauty and design. Everything else is irrelevant.

That said, if I started reading that LV was manufacturing in China I would have some concerns and I would start looking.

I've noticed that some of the more recent dust bags are made in India.

Recently bought a cles in DE and for me it was actually shipped from France (I purchased from the LV website) Is that a normal thing? My piece was obviously made in France when I checked but Is it normal when ordering that your items are shipped directly from the place in which they are made? I presumed that they were either sent from a boutique in your country or there were LV warehouses full of goodies! I'm quite new to LV so please forgive me if there is quite an obvious answer :) and for reference I live in England, so only a stones throw from France!
