Some people want bags made in france from a French Company. Personally I am all about supporting America, and I love my MIU bags as much as my MIF and have not noticed a quality difference, but it's all about personal preference.

I used to be one of the ones who only wanted MIF. Then one day, I decided not to care anymore. I realized it's not worth it -in my opinion- to stress over something as minuscule as geographical origin of where material things are produced. There are more important things to worry about. So yeah, I'm indifferent. I don't care where it's made as long as the quality is there.

This was the basic gist of my lost post....
The bag I have with me today is MIUSA, however the wallet & key holder are both MIF. I honestly think it is personal preference.
I never mind buying MIUSA when in the US and think it is good for the US economy. However, I have family in Europe and would want MIF or MIS if purchasing in those countries.
I trust LV quality to be the same across the board, and hopefully they operate similarly in all countries.
I have heard that most fakes/replicas/etc are stamped MIF? I'm not sure how true that statement is, though.
That's from what I've seen as well. I've never seen a fake MiU. All the bags I've had authenticated or have looked at myself, the fakes are always stamped MiF. I think they are aware people would like their LV MiF so by putting that MiF there, they're hoping it could pass for the real thing.
Thanks for the response! That makes complete sense. I suppose they could also use the naivety of the consumer, if they aren't extremely familiar with the brand.
I remember a friend showing me a Prada years ago that she said was a gift and authentic. I remember looking in the bag and seeing it was stamped Made in Italy, but it also had a small tag stating Made in China. She didn't own any other designer items, which is why I think they use naivety to their advantage. I didn't have the heart to tell her it was fake. Looking back, I'm not sure if I should have or not.
I wonder if anyone has been in that position of knowing a friend's bag is fake and what they did about it? I also wonder if anyone has seen LV fakes marked Made in Spain or the US?
Yeah I've been in that position of knowing it was a fake.. faker than fake!
It was a horrible fake! I didn't say anything because this was someone who wasn't aware and I wasn't going to be the one to bust her bubble or tell her she got ripped off. If she asked me about it I would have but I didn't say anything.
