Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

I just purchased my first LV and I LOVE it! I got the Totally MM and I am so happy with my decision (took forever for me to pick). I was also excited that the one I got was made in france - I just think that is cool for my first LV to be made in france! So it has only been one day, and I had to go back for some accessories hee hee ( :
I am so addicted already...

I got:
mono small zippy (made in france)
mono coin/key purse (that I hook on the D-ring) made in spain
mono pouchette (wrislet size one w/removable strap) made in spain

Do you have a preference to where your piece that you are buying is made? Is one better than the other? Has anyone seen any difference in the quality between them? Just curious since I am new to LV.
Thanks for your input ;)

Congrats on your new purchases! I agree with the other posters...As long as it's authentic, for me, it doesn't matter where it's made.

well my 1st l.v. i just got last friday preloved a monogram croissant gm,its made in spain. i dont think i would care where its made. the only thing sort of weird to me is seeing l.v. paris made in usa.

Is there a difference? Is it a personal preference?

I am coveting a (new-to-me) LV mono Lockit bag and have found a couple online. I am noticing that one is "made in France" and the other "made in USA" Not sure if im just being a bag snob but I kinda want my LV made in good ol France :D

Is there any difference?

Thanks;)

I wondered about this too.

It sounds ridiculous, but when I get my keepall, I want it to have been made in France. And I think for the price I'm paying I should be able to ask for one that was made in France. :smile1: Is that possible?

I also prefer all my bags be made in France as well. But some of the styles and SLG are not made in France when they first launch. So if I like a particular style, I will have to put up with one that is either made in Spain or USA. I agree, for the price I pay, I would very much like my accessories to be made in France.

I didn't know that about the SLGs. Hmm. Is there some way to ensure that you get goods that are made in France? I wonder what they would say at the store if I said I wanted one that was made in France...

Buying from the website, I guess it's pot luck.

but the craftsmen should be just as skilled as the french ones. not to mention that most SLGs are made in Spain. reportedly by the Loewe people, a brand much higher priced, higher quality and prestige than Vuitton.

at least in my experience.

Most of my LV bags and SLGs are Made in France. :yahoo:

I do have my Batignolles Horizontal and another SLG (forgot which one, probably my Mono Sarah Wallet) Made in Spain. I did not see much difference with my Batignolles Horizontal from my Batignolles Vertical which was Made in France.

I prefer Made in France LVs. I was disappointed that I could not get my BH or Sarah Wallet to be Made in France, but I love them equally.

When I was shopping for a Monogram Sarah Wallet, they showed me a whole bunch of wallets all made in the USA. This was the first time I saw them made outside of France or Spain. I turned them down. I waited a few weeks more and the SA found one Made in Spain. I compared the two and the print looks a little different--the one Made In Spain had the flap a little lower and straight whereas the Made in the USA was a bit higher and a little crooked. I took the Made in Spain one instead.

I am sure they are all made equally despite the ones I saw but I prefer the tradition that Louis Vuitton began in France and prefer my LVs to emerge from Europe. Perhaps I have one Made In Italy too. I'll have to go check.

As long as it's unused and within return period, you should be fine!

I've always asked for items made in France. They usually say that it's not likely they have one, but always end up finding one for me. My sister doesn't care, and all of her LV pieces are made in USA. I think they sell the made in USA pieces to people who don't ask and save the made in France pieces for the picky people (me, lol). Seeing 'made in France' just makes it a little more special to me.
