Personally I doubt a US made bag will be as good as French made bag -the USA simply lacks the tradition of workmanship that we have in "old" Europe and I am also guessing (yes) there is less attachment and pride between the US worker and the brand and what it stands for. This should amount to a less loved bag of a lesser quality. Somebody said in this thread that a Toyota made in Kentucky is still a Toyota, but is it really? The Japanese have the toughest quality control in the world and the Japanese consumers have the highest requirement and expectations in the world (I have worked a lot with JP businesses) and there is no way this is propagated all the way down the the US factory worker. No way. Same goes with BMW cars being made in the US --it is well known in Europe to stay away from the US made cars, for example the 3-series, due to all the quality problems they have compared to the German cars. In my opinion, American workers are not as engaged and American customers don't value quality to the same extent.
Then of course it is that emotional thing that, a French luxury product just should be made in France, after all a great portion of that LV price tag is based on that emotional fictive value.
