Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

It depends on the popularity on the bag. If you buy a Speedy then I'd say the chances are more likely that you'd get one made in the USA however if you bought a Trocadero, then it'd be more likely that it'd be made in France or elsewhere. I'm presuming the Trocadero is not as popular as the Speedy, based on my experience, but there are no differences in the design or quality.

I haven't noticed if there's any difference. Some of my bags are made in USA, some in France, my Dentelle Batignolles is from Spain (I didn't know bags were made in Spain, I used to think it was only SLG's). I would love to have all my bags say "Made In France"...sounds cool, lol. And yes, I've noticed the bags I bought as new releases are "Made In France (Watercolor, Vernis Alma for example). I wonder why that is...

According to a SA, the only reason why some are made in France vs. US is b/c it's based on where (country) you reside. If you live close to France you are more likely to get a bag made in France b/c of lower shipping costs. It makes no sense to ship something all the way from the US when France makes it. However I do agree with "kenzo89" that speedy is so popular that it tends to come from US as they are made in abundance. Unlike some LE that are made in France instead.

So glad I found this thread.

I just got the Galliera PM and was so bummed to discover at home that it's made in the USA and not in France.

I feel so silly about comtemplating returning mine to search for one that's made in France but after seeing this thread, I feel more normal. I feel like my bag would be much more special if I did see that it was made in France! I don't know what to do. I really don't want to search for another Galliera but I would definitely feel a bit happier if my bag was made in France =|

Usually if you don't ask you're more likely to get one that's made in USA if you get it from an LV store in the US. I asked the SA for one that's made in France and she found one for me. I don't think there's a difference in quality, the only reason I wanted on made in France is because that's where LV is from!

hmm. as for my bags, cabas p. -made in france- but damier azur speedy 30 & mono canvas speedy 30-made in usa-quality is all the same, all have held up perfect. however, i own several SLG's and i did notice that the mono canvas PTI made in u.s.a. is chipping on edge after only having her less than 1 yr, where my mono canvas agenda & compact zipped wallet i've had for 4 years-both made in spain- looks like new-even though i STUFF both to maximum capacity. so maybe the craftsmanship on the SLG's are a bit different...?

from Eluxury I have:
Speedy35 - Made in France
BeverlyMM - Made in USA

It's nice to have France on my Speedy35, it was my first LV. I've never been to France so it's like having a little piece of France with me.

The BeverlyMM USA is just fine, I didn't think much about it after the initial observation.

I do see where the poster is coming from. There are a lot of things made in the US that aren't necessarily the highest craftsmanship.

But just remember, if you're buying an LV you are getting a fine product no matter where it was made.

I own several LV pieces that I have purchased both on Elux and in boutiques and I never even stop to look whether its made in the USA or France...I guess it doesnt matter to me all that much as long as its LV.
