Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

I have to say that I never really thought about it until I hit some threads here. My Damier Speedy is made in the USA and it's one of my favorite bags. I just want a beautiful well made LV. And I want it made by well paid craftsmen. As long as LV doesn't move their workshops to India or China I'll be happy.

Agree..... unless in the future they have the exact same requirements for work conditions and salaries as in EU. And I hope they will.

There is no difference in quality. I think LV make them in different locations so that they can get them to stores more easily and/or the materials to make a particular item is only available in that country.

For example here in Europe all bags are either made in France/Spain and some LE's Italy. But in the US I heard that alot of bags and accessories are made in USA.

its not a matter of being better, its just a preferences some people have. some people prefer to have their bags made in france and dont want one made in the USA. i personally dont care, ive had LV's made in spain, france, and the usa

After visiting the workshops, I've been told that in Europe, most smaller items are made in Spain (don't forget the Spaniards count amongst the best leather craftmen in the world) while the big luggage is made in France

Hi tpfers :smile1: I know there is no difference if a LV is made in USA or France the quality is what matters. That being said Louis Vuitton is a French company there for it feels more "right" to own a Louis Vuitton made in France. Right? I know this has been debated many times here...but I am curious if you order from eLuxury or the Louis Vuitton website are you more likely to receive a made in the USA bag? I tend to get my Louis Vuitton in the boutique and not on line. Its a 50:50 chance if I get a bag made in France or USA. I also noticed if a model is just released the more likely it would be made in France. :confused1: Are there minor differences in how the bags are made in France or USA other than the obvious which country the bags are made in?

I don't think there are any differences in the bags. They are the same accross the board. I have 3 bags that are all made in the USA and love them all!! I am not sure why it is such a big deal...but i suppose it is because it is a French company. They are all trained extensively which is why the bags are so consistant. I wouldn't worry about it!
