Just found out about this forum post, and my Prada Saffiano Tri-Fold Wallet has the "MADE IN CHINA" tag. Got mine a year ago at the Prada outlet store in Livermore, CA. I don't really mind the made in china tag , just wanted to share my information! ;)

Just wanted to let everyone know…
I bought a double zip tote (BN2274) at a boutique and it was "Made in Italy". At the same time, I was looking at wallets and pretty much all the ones I looked at (zip around, trifold in various colors and leathers) were Made in Spain.

I was at the Prada outlet last week and saw wallets that were made in China, India, and Spain. Bags were made in China and Italy (very few).

Seems as though..... Check this out:

That's right, ladies and gents! Prada has pulled another fast one on us. First the Pleather Fiasco, now they are selling the couture line Prada (with couture line Prada price tags) and they are being manufactured in CHINA.

This is going to make reselling Prada bags a nightmare! Can you imagine someone getting a real Prada with a "Made in China" tag so carefully hidden away. Can you say "Paypal Dispute"??

We all know the Linea Rossa line is Made in China, but it's priced accordingly. I have nothing against items made in China and own my share, but when Prada is selling "Made in Italy" bags at "Made in Italy" prices and they are being manufactured for next to nothing because of the low labor costs in China?

Sorry, folks. I'm done with Prada. This is completely unacceptable. I'm sick of this. It's deceptive as hell and I won't be supporting it any longer.

Wow, thanks for the info on Prada! Deceptive practices indeed.

I bought a tan colored east/west vitello daino last month at saks... Reading this thread got me in a tizzy (!), so I immediately opened my bag up and was relieved to see "made in italy" inside near the side zipper compartment. (please pardon my stockings inside!)

I bought my first Prada bag about one year ago (you can find thread reveal in this Prada forum). I bought in Prada outlet in Austria. After about half year of gentle wearing (and I'm very careful about my designer bags) some defects occured. There were peeling of hem on one handle and cracked rim around the upper perimeter of the bag.

I complained the bag and it was sent to Italy. I requested a new one but the bag has been fixed only. I did not agree with it, but could not do anything. After two months, the defects appeared again. This time I wrote a complaint to customer service by email, I want store credit immediately but I was answered that my bag will be again repaired. It made me really confused and I wrote back to them that I have a legal right to compensation and really do not want Prada bag repaired several times during the half year. Only when I threatened a lawyer, I was answered that they give me store credit. After reading more and more complaints here, unfortunately, I do not believe that I just had bad luck and it was a defective piece (this can happen even Hermes). Quality is really going down and I'm really curious (and afraid) how it will be going with the new one which I will get.

So here is result of my complained Prada 1713 Soft Calf in black, bought in outlet. The bag has any "made in" tag, I swear on it. It has only white tag with number. Finally I got store credit after second complain and big issuses with the bag. I can choose new bag from store and 'cause I really love 1713 soft calf I tooke it again. And surprisingly the new one has "made in Italy tag"!!! I'm so happy! :smile1: Hope it's really true. I hope it will be better than the first one. We will see...

OMG...I just read through some of this thread. I cannot believe Prada is doing this and charging the same prices or more??? And hiding the tags so people might not notice??? I only have 2 Prada bags and both are older bags so they are both made in Italy.

You should pop over to Neiman Marcus' Prada handbag page. The prices are OBSCENE!!!!

Stopped by the Prada outlet last week and saw a wall of Miu Miu tote bags marked down to half off. I was curious where they were made so I looked into one bag and was surprised that it was Made in Italy! But, I looked at the bag right next to it (exact same style just different color blocking) and it was Made in Turkey! It's still really strange to me how the same bag can be sourced in a different country but, of course, it was selling for the same price. Of course, we took the bag that was Made in Italy.

Also went to the Prada totes and searched to find that all were Made in India selling at $1,100 each. I would definitely make sure to scour for the 'Made in' tag with any Prada purchase before buying.

Oh it's new then! I'm sorry that happened to you! thank you for the reply.

this“cracking” occur is caused by the shapeImageUploadedByPurseForum1391993782.442135.jpg
