Prada Bags: Now Made in China for Italian Made Prices."

Dissapointing, I was going to get one in Nero before I went back to work to use as a work bag so now I have no idea what else to buy instead!

Are there more stores that are more prone to having the "Made in China" labels? Should I go directly to Prada or go to Saks or a second distributor type store or should I just lurk online?

Going to Prada stores would be best. Saks is fine as well. I have purchased from both and not had a problem; all made in Italy.

Personally, I prefer my bag to have made in italy tag.. when I saw this thread i checked my bag right away! Thank God my tag says made in italy!

i asked about this at a saks w/prada and she was adamant that any prada bags she sold were made in italy, it seemed like she had been asked quite a few times!!

I know Prada creates pieces just for the outlet and the sale items that show up at the Prada boutiques are usually brand new pieces that have never been on display before. Sometimes these items are manufactured overseas, usually in China, with the exact same materials. Which is why they're cheaper.

FYI - i think a lot of companies that have "outlet" stores do the same thing not just prada

After reading this thread I go check my saffiano and find it was made in Italy, not on

my prada bag starts have this after half a year of wearing (i got new one after two complaints)

Was just wondering if that actually was the case for real that Prada makes bags specifically for outlets. Would that mean then that cards and some hardware would be different? I was under the impression that most of the stock Prada outlets would get would be the more seasonal or older collection items that Prada boutiques are trying to sell, not cheaper versions of the same thing made overseas because doesn't that just defeat the purpose of Prada's high quality standard? I recently purchased a bag from mynetsales which i thought was real but which i was then told by Prada wasn't real because the hardware and cards were minutely different but the mynetsales people said it was sourced the way Prada outlet bags were sourced.....not really sure what's going on here. Could you please elaborate? Thanks!

Mynetsale is one of the most disgusting, unscrupulous bunch of criminals that EVER sold a counterfeit Prada. They'll tell customers or prospective customers anything to sell their garbage.

I'm very careful on Prada purchase nowadays. I do not buy if that is made in China. It's ridiculous to pay Italian price on China made. I found that my key pouch was made in Turkey and my handbag still made in Italy. I also found lots of their shoes are made in China. I thought about getting a pair of sandals for summer, but I changed my mind. I bought a pair of Chanel instead.

A nordstrom employee told me all red label Prada is made in China (it's their lower line). Personally I wouldn't pay that much money for Prada that is made in China.
