I have been waiting for my first prada saffiano lux tote for weeks and finally received it yesterday. But after inspecting the bag, I found out it ripped in some corners. would you please have a look at the pics and let me know if it is normal or it is defected? Is there the same thing in your prada bag?

Every person who intends to venture into the world of luxury goods, should at least read Dana Thomas' How Luxury Lost its Luster. It's a really good book and eye-opening too.
Was about to buy a bag on sale but realize that it is made in china. Then checked some other sale bags, and none of them were made in Italy. If it isn't made in Italy, I won't spend 1000+ to buy it! Craftsmanship looks good with the china ones but the pricetag is still way up there.
Agree with everyone, I can't justify that kind of prices for something with a made in china tag. I still buy older Prada bags though, when they were still made in Italy with real leather lining.
^Yep, those are THE best! I have a washed leather satchel and I smile every time I carry it. I could walk through a fire and the darn bag not be damaged, I swear.

Even the made in italy labels may have been made by chinese under conditions equal to those in china, including same wages. The chinese non regulated ghettos in certain villages in Italy have been known for quite a while.
Just buy something that's well made and good looking at a fair price and don't care about that ridiculous label that no longer is a guarantee of anything... I have various prada items that each are made in different countries off the top of my head bulgaria, italy and vietnam. It's still the label "prada" you're paying for, not a place origin. If you feel like the "made in italy" is more important than a "designer" label, it's probably better to buy from smaller manufacturers locally. Just a thought.

So true, my washed leather bag wear line iron too. I love bags with leather lining, it just seem so luxurious.
I get your point. However, for me, it's the simple fact that Prada's provenance originated in Italy. That's what I expect. Like it's been said before, I have plenty of Made In China bags but the price point is commensurate with its provenance.
Prada hiding behind its name and charging 4 digits on a bag is ridiculous and I refuse to pay my hard earned $ on a lie.
I personally have owned Made In China and Made In Italy Prada bags and I can tell the difference.
