Well my stomach dropped through the floor. I did see that blog on portero and right after that found a mini satin red alma and grabbed it. Now I will have to wait and authenticate it. I thought they were beyond reproach. YIKES

Good luck and I hope it's authentic...

You'll be fine! I just bought a vintage Chanel gift to self from Portero.com. I'm pretty excited about it. It's my second bag from them. I'll let you know when it arrives! Can't wait to see your satin Alma.

I recently ordered a Speedy 25 and had it authenticated twice here, and it passed. Just make sure to authenticate it here when you get it--they do have that full refund policy if its a fake...

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I am going to do my first reveal with this bag when it comes. It is so cute and RED ...I'm looking forward to it again.

I bought a Chanel Bag from Portero last year. The bag was authentic and it is the real thing. My grouse is that I don't think they are completely honest with the quality description of the bag. I own several Chanel bags so I know. Apparently, the bag was advertised as EXCELLENT. But after I used the bag after 3 months, the handles started falling apart at the seams which meant I couldn't really put anything inside the bag for fear the handle came off completely. For the price I paid, and for an 'Excellent' quality bag it should be much more durable than that. I am so disappointed and I've just hid that bag in my cupboard as I can't use it anymore. How sad.

You should have contacted them about that. Is this something Chanel can repair for you?

I am coming to this thread very late, i know, but thank goodness i did.

These kinds of experiences need to be known so that prospective buyers have as much information at their fingertips as possible, from there they can make up their own minds - but it does need to be known, well done for bringing it to attention.

I buy a lot of vintage bags! The handles do wear out even when bags are in excellent condition. Have you tried taking it to Chanel for repair? Since it's authentic they would be able to help you. Or even a normal shoe/leather repair -- a good one would be able to help. If you post a photo, I might be able to give better advice. So sad about the cupboard! The bag wants to play!
