Maybe they launched this one for the lunar new year to test the water re how much fomo it creates and in march they will release the bag for the international market in different colours?

It's beautiful 😍
It said limited edition. I guess it is a marketing strategy to launch the store and the brand in China. I think they want to keep the Polene craze going and will launch limited editions for special occasions that than sell out.

Not sure where you’re located, but in the US I’m seeing the Mokki at $720 vs $690 - we saw a +$30 increase. It was on my wishlist as well, but over $700 for a polene bag, I’d rather buy something else TBH 😕
I checked the Euro prices and the Mokki is still 520. This shows that the price increase was just greed. They marked up bags that go well. I don't think the Mokki was that popular in Europe to be honest. Or whatever their strategy is.

Over 700usd is a lot. And this does not even include shipping.

i don’t think LVMH is seeing this clearly. Current buyers may not be able to afford the new price hikes. Other buyers like you and me will just keep buying what we were for a bit more because we don’t think Polene is worth the higher price. This is an interesting market experiment.
LVMH only has a minority stake in Polene. I doubt they are the ones pulling the strings now. Polene had price increases over the years and probably will have more.

I actually did not buy any Polene bags for two years because they increased their prices so much and now I ended up buying two in 2024 because I liked one of their newer releases and feared the Cyme would be way too expensive in the new year.

I absolutely love my Nodde but to be honest with the price increase now..not sure if I would have bought so easily.

what did you order? Post pics please when they arrive!
I ordered the neuf mini in chalk, un mini in sand and the cyme in cognac. They just arrived today and I have to say I’m impressed. The last bag I ordered from them had some minor defects and I was a little disappointed so haven’t ordered from them for 2 years. Each of the bags is stunning, the leather is perfect, stitching is perfect, just gorgeous! I also love the new packaging, it’s so elegant.

It’s dark where I am at the moment so the photos wouldn’t be great, I’ll maybe upload some later.

I am sad I didn’t get to buy in store when I was in Paris last year but the queue was just so long, I waited for an hour but couldn’t wait any longer.

I just received my first Polene bag yesterday. It is Dix and it’s beautiful.
I ordered the the bag because I have had it on my mind for quite long time and now I decided to get it before the price went up. But there was a little disappointment. Inside the bag there are sticky adhesives at the seams. Does anyone have this kind of problem? Is this normal? Does the stickiness go away from the glue? In my opinion, bags of this price should not have such a problem :/

So sad to know how much Polene has changed— or become a hit and miss, with the price increase and all I haven’t bought any of their products for years. I bought quite a bit on their first 3 years. I still love this brand but with price increase and no free ship makes me think 2-3 x if I really want to get new ones.

cognac is probably my favourite colour that Polene offers, I own a Dix in cognac. Neuf looks stunning in chalk, at least in the photos.
I've been lucky with Polene bags, all three that I own came in perfect condition.

Can someone give me the tea on these bags? I saw this for the very first time on Tiktok but other than that I have never heard of it before!

I’ll take a stab at it:
- Newer brand relatively, established in 2016
- Largely ships from Spain, although there are now a couple of boutiques in certain cities
- Early on had only a handful of designs - great quality and designer-like designs, for the price point
- Many of us became early adopters / fans, found them to be under-the-radar and pseudo designer
- Popularity has increased and now prices are surging while quality is falling.

Oh my god! Is it really that the quality is not a vibe? Is the reason that the croissant bag shape seems to be making a comeback?

@BagaliciousTay there’s been enough of a degree of complaints about Polene on this thread over time that leads me to conclude that overall quality has dropped, but as with everything, YMMV.

Not sure I follow your question about the croissant bag shape. I certainly feel like croissant-shaped bags are everywhere in general, but I don’t relate that to Polene in any particular way.

To all fellow Poleners:

I've been on this forum for a few years and was initially enamored with the Polene brand; I loved its newness, exclusivity, and early prices, which were so affordable. Over a couple of years, I purchased a dozen products from them and even visited their Paris store, and the experience was lovely.

But I think I've fallen out of love with the brand for some reason.

After all the price increases and the many quality issues, I haven't felt like ordering from their site since June 2023.
I'm not sure if it's because I was able to purchase at those early lower prices, and so it's harder for me to pay double for the same items, or if it's also because the brand has become more commercial and trite.

I have sold all of my Polene bags except for one; my Neuf Mini in camel, which for a while was my favorite and most-used bag.
But I haven't actually worn it in over a year. It's just sitting in my closet and I look at it, still admiring its unique design, but something is keeping me from wanting to actually wear it again.

It might be the whole LVMH drama, or the horrible replicas I've seen, even those ugly Quince and BCBG versions. Or maybe because their current prices are now a higher investment that requires more thought and consideration than before. I've been able to sell my Polene bags very fast, which is good, but they do not hold their value.

I'm sad that I feel this way, but I'm just sharing with you, fellow Polene lovers, in case you feel the same, so I can better understand why I'm kind of over Polene. (Apologies to those still in love with the brand and those just discovering it. This is just my honest opinion and point of view.)

Think that we have all seen popular bags saturate the market with replicas.
I did purchase the Neuf which I still enjoy wearing & it has worn well.
I am not one to purchase bags thinking they will hold their value, I purchase a
bag because of how it will work in my lifestyle. My Neufs were basically purchased
to be in a way a workhorse bag for the spring/summer. I have worn my Chalk Neuf this
winter & enjoyed the freshness of the color & the style.
Many of us know the brand has quality issues which they have addressed, but think overall
the designs speak for themselves.
We have all seen prices go up.. that is the nature of business fair or unfair due to a
multitude of costs.
Perhaps bring out your bag again, you may not fall in love but perhaps fall in like & that
in itself will perhaps bring some joy in still wearing a good looking bag, JMO

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad you are still enjoying your pieces and understand what you point out.

Still, apart from all of the facts, there is an element of likeability and desire, and there are no set rules for that.
Something you just move on from a brand. It happens.
I'm just sharing my experience, which might be different from others, and that is okay.
