At least they email now about the price increase. Last time there was such a backlash because of it.
I reckon the cyme will see the biggest price increase. The newest models like the Nodde Hobo are priced a bit higher. I doubt that there will be a price increase.

I’ve just ordered 3 bags! Really don’t need them, but have been thinking about purchasing for over a year so I think it was time! There are a couple of other styles I love but they are out of stock just now so will just have to remain on my wish list for a little longer.
what did you order? Post pics please when they arrive!

Polène’s price hikes after the LVMH deal were expected, but they’ll further hurt the brand’s appeal.

At these prices, Polène is competing with more established luxury brands.
In comparison, you’re better off getting something on sale from YSL, Chloé, Valentino, or even Loewe. These are brands with history and better resale value.

As a newer brand, Polène hasn’t proven itself yet with the innovation, quality, or consistency needed to win over client trust and loyalty to justify these price increases. It feels like they’re trying to skip steps.

Prestige and value are privileges that must be earned.

Are they different prices in some regions? I just checked the site and they seem way less expensive than even Coach?

I completely agree - especially with your last sentence that I bolded.

I don’t typically buy contemporary brands’ bags but have been considering buying Polene for a couple of years because they seemed like unique bags at value prices.

But having heard of quality issues and seeing price increases, I’m less likely to buy. I also have been scared off from hearing about issues such as uncomfortable openings and stiff leather. For these reasons plus the lack of resale value and being put off by the influencer overhype, I don’t see these bags as comparable to entry level premier luxury brands.

Polene had a great niche and now LVMH is doing their typical thing and ruining the brand in the name of profit.

Polène Prices will further increase on January 6th, 2025. We are referring to a price point that is estimated to be closer to $1k for some items.

Poléne was established in 2016 and the brand has already had some major issues with quality and service.

Coach has been around since the 1940s, and has earned the love and trust of its customers, being recognized for its impeccable quality and durability.
You may also find Coach on sale and score great deals. That is not the case with Poléne.

But again, this is only my opinion. Forums like these are intended for the purpose of communicating our personal views on these brands and products.
Anyone is welcome to keep purchasing any products they desire. Some of us are simply pointing out the reality of some corporations wanting to squeeze more and more profit from their consumers, while offering lower quality and service.

Exactly. Your last paragraph says it all: “Ruining the brand in the name of profit.” 🙌🏼

Ah… over a thousand for Polène is indeed a crazy increase! I’m seeing around 250 to 650$ on their site which is why I was a bit confused. Thanks for clearing it up!

That is the estimation, yes. We shall see. But still, even at these current prices, Poléne is no longer the amazing deal it used to be.
I was a huge fan a couple of years ago and bought over a dozen bags, but as prices continued to increase and quality issues arise, I got turned off.

I love contemporary brands, but once the price surpasses a certain threshold, I choose to instead find sale item within established high-end designer brands because I know it’s a much better deal and investment.

Indeed the 650$ bag was 300 ish last time I checked their site which was admittedly around the start of the pandemic but that wasn’t that long ago either. 😵‍💫

They have some pretty bag shapes which are quite unique to the brand which is what drew my interest initially. (Albeit ended up picking up Ramesh era Moynat instead due to the unique hardware)

Annual or bi-annual price increases is expected for any brand and we knew it was coming after the LVMH deal. However, the prices are still considerably cheaper than YSL, Valentino or Loewe. It’s still a contemporary brand, don’t think there will ever be are any deals or savings with this brand as there aren’t any sales or Polene bags sold in big department stores. No brand in my opinion is good for resale or investment, but personally from past experience I think Polene is better for getting it resold quickly and losing the least amount compared to Valentino or YSL (if these were brought in sale and not classic pieces). Polene isn’t yet available in all countries unless via online so it’s less accessible than the big brands.

It is a newer brand as you stated, it’s competitors isn’t the big established brands that you named and don’t think Polene is trying to compete with them either. Its still at a much different price point.

I don’t owe any polene handbags (did and sold it) but do have my eye on one, I would have gone down the preloved route but the bag and color I want isn’t available for a good price. I can’t speak of the declining quality but I think the same can also be said for the big brands if we’re going by this forum.

That’s exactly my point: Polène isn’t comparable to brands like YSL, Chloe, Valentino, or Givenchy, so we can’t compare their prices. Polène hasn’t earned the legacy or reputation of those established design houses that have been around for decades.

What I’m trying to point out is that the allure of Polène was its price point, making it accessible and desirable. With their aggressive price hikes, they’re losing that appeal.

So I mentioned the other brands only to say that at this rate, we might as well look for sales and deals on YSL, Givenchy, Chloe, etc. bags (which I’ve recently found for under $900 during sales at major department stores) that hold a completely different level of value.

The LVMH deal might bring more attention, but it doesn’t automatically justify their increasing prices. What made Polène great was its ability to offer high-quality designs at an affordable price. Now, with the aggressive price hikes, they are not really “affordable” anymore. And the fact that the bags are everywhere we look make it feel like the novelty and exclusivity that originally drew us to the brand are no longer there.
