I'm just dipping my toes into the fragrance world. What would you experts recommend that's a light scent? Clichéd but the fresh laundry scent sort of scent. I used to buy stuff from Clean and have Bois Blonds from Atelier Cologne. TIA!

The one I'm wearing today, Le Labo Gaiac 10, sounds like it would work well, but unless you're in Tokyo, the only time of the year you can buy it is September.

I'm curious about the Strangelove perfumes. I would like to test them, but it seems very few places carry them. So, I'm tempted to order the discovery set, is it worth it? I wonder if anyone here has some information about these perfumes that would like to share.

they are complicated, not everyone likes/understands them. I tried them all, love very much, high quality scents, even won a draw on Cafleurebon.
If you are interested in Ch.Laudamiel's creations, I would start with his the Zoo line.

I've been trying to think of any fresh laundry scents I am familiar with, and the only ones that sort of come close in my mind are Prada Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger (floral but with that fresh laundry feeling in the drydown) and maybe Infusion d'Iris EDT. I have the older versions, but I think the newer versions still have that light quality. Also, you might want to test Chanel No. 19 Poudre.

Thank you for the tips!

I went perfume hunting today and I wrote down the ones that I did like. I wrongly categorized the scent. I guess more citrus/floral is what I'm looking for.

These were the three that stood out for me:
Acua di parma yuzu
Dior cologne royal
Guerlain herbes troublant
Creed Vetiver Original

Haven't gotten anything yet but the Dior one made a very good impression.

Do you have other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I have not sniffed any of the ones mentioned above, but based on the scent profile of those perfumes, here are a few suggestions for you to try:
Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir: I get orange blossom, and tea on the drydown. Smells great and lasts long.
Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte.
I have a sample somewhere of Hermes Le Jardin de Monsieur Li, and I think that is one you can try to sample, although if I recall correctly, the floral element was not very prominent in that fragrance.
Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria range might be interesting too. I can definitely recommend Nerolia Bianca but I think they discontinued that one. I have not tried their more recent Aqua Allegoria selections but you may wish to try Nettare di Soie from their current line up. I also suggest sampling their eau de cologne range including their Eau de Cologne Imperiale.
Neroli Amara by VC&A is another one that you should try to sample.
These are the first that come to mind. If I think of any others, I will come back here and post.

The Neroli Outrenoir was the first Guerlain that I've tried! I loved it. I'll check it out again if it's still love. Thanks for the leads!

Alright, ladies and gents - what is your take on Atkinson1799? I´m a-hunting for a scent for my BF - mature, Mediterranean type, can carry heavier stuff than most men - and I´m quite intrigued, in particular, by these two scents:

Any experience with this brand, are their scents true to description, is their sillage heavier/lighter than average...? I would have to order samples abroad, as this brand isn´t present where I live, so I´m all ears about your recs, or similar ones. Thank you!

I have limited experience with this house, but I definitely know that I was not at all impressed enough by the ones I've smelled to feel like I would ever want to buy any of them without having extensively sampled them first. They didn't seem like anything special. I DEFINITELY wouldn't pay full retail for them, either, as they're available at discounters.

If you haven't smelled them, then what is even drawing you to them in the first place?
