I love that several of you have the love for rose that I do  Your posts are very helpful. I'm in the lookout for a new rose right now. I do have the SL La Fille de Berlin otw, and I got a sample of Dior rose n roses today, but I haven't tried it yet.

I went to the mall today just for the purpose of smelling perfumes. I eventually smelled too many things for one day and had to leave. Of course I live in a small place so even Ulta and Sephora don't offer a lot of the things here that they do elsewhere.

I did get to try quite a bit though. Scents that stood out to me the most(on paper) :

Black Opium(used to wear Opium long ago)

Good Girl edp Legere (unexpected)

Philosophy Ballet Rose-I need a sample of this to wear.

Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme-also surprising because I'm usually turned off by fruit, buy the blackberry was light and just delightful. I need a sample of this too.

I tried all the Blooms...I like the
Acqua du Fiori's opening a lot, really fresh and green. Will eventually get a sample of this to see how it wears.

I got a sample of the Nettare di Fiori and used it when I got home. Im about 6 hours in and it mostly still smells like the Tuberose and Jasmine it opened as. I get the occasional whiff of spicy ginger now and then, and a little sweetness from the honeysuckle. It smells super good on my clothes and wrists. On the insides of my elbows though...omg it's so patchouli. Like borderline too much. No white flowers there at all. Weird. It almost smells like Gorgeous Gardenia in that area. I might wear it again tomorrow and avoid that area and see if it makes a difference. I really do like the smell on my clothes though.

Things I thought I might like but disappointed:

Gucci Bamboo-just blech

Philosophy AG Jasmine- couldn't even smell this on the paper so I sprayed it again on the same paper. Still nothing. So strange.

All the Valentinos

Dior Joy-I guess I'm just not feeling sandalwood these days. I made the mistake of spraying this one on myself. Almost suffocated on the way home. 20 degrees outside, but I had to roll down the window some to get some fresh air. Could have sworn I was wearing the Samsara I just mailed out. Straight sandalwood. Nope. Scrubbed my arms three times before it was deal-able.

I was also hoping to try the Chanel Gabrielle, but nobody here even carries Chanel anymore.

And can you all believe I have never smelled Alien? Never felt the need. I tried today anyway...another big nope.

I would like to try Fleur de The Rose Bulgare, but it seems to be sold out. I need to be very careful with Creed perfumes as they can give me headaches. For example, I can't stand Aventus for her. I must try them at least a couple of times before buying (they are not cheap). From Creed, I like Love in Black, Princess Oud, Love in White, and Millesime Imperial so far.

To answer your question about FM- Une Rose, I ordered the travel size from NM, and it's backordered. :girlshocked:

Fleur de The Rose Bulgare might be discontinued? Not sure. I am not familiar with that one, but they also have Fleurs de Bulgarie (also a rose fragrance with a similar sounding name) which I find a tad too soapy in the drydown; smells like rose soap. My fave from the Creed line is Jasmine Imperatrice Eugenie, which is jasmine, sandalwood and some vanilla. Sorry to hear about the headaches. It's definitely a good idea to test perfumes several times before committing to a full bottle.

Thanks! I don't think I have tried Jasmine Imperatrice Eugenie, I'll keep it in mind on my next trip to a store. I wish Creed would sell a travel vial for each of their perfumes like Frederic Malle. I find the travel size ideal to try a perfume before buying (or not) its full size.

:goodpost:Thank you so much! I didn't try FM- Une Rose yet, but I want to. For the rose scent, I've also used Atelier Cologne-Rose Anonyme. I got a little tired of it, but used it for a few years. I still have an unopened bottle… I'm also curious about Tom Ford Rose Prick. I may be repeating myself, but I love a good perfume!!! Your post was very helpful.

Edit: I just ordered FM- Une Rose.
Une Rose is awesome. Its name has been changed, though--it's now called Rose Tonnerre--so perhaps that's why it's backordered right now.

The best rose I know of is Note di Profumum Meraviglia, but it's very hard to find.

I don't know why they changed the name but Une Rose sounds so much better than Rose Tonnerre! Une Rose is such a poetic name.

I'm curious about the Strangelove perfumes. I would like to test them, but it seems very few places carry them. So, I'm tempted to order the discovery set, is it worth it? I wonder if anyone here has some information about these perfumes that would like to share.

They're expensive, but they do use real oud and are very good. There's one in particular that I know I like, but I'm not sure how often I'd actually wear it to justify the cost.

If you've never experienced real oud, though, I would not buy any of them blind. Real oud is really much different than the oud accords present in most mainstream perfumes.

Yeah! Their discovery set is not too bad, but $390 for 10 ml is rather pricey. I wish they would sell them at Saks, it would be easier to try them without having to buy the set.

It seems Atelier Cologne is leaving the US market, or at least a bunch of their previous stockists. Nordstrom website 30% off. Sephora website 30% off. Didn't check other sites, but probably the same. The more popular stuff is sold out online on Sephora .com, but I was able to order pick up tomorrow from my local store, since they still had it in stock. 1 oz of Orange Sanguine.
