Yesterday I was invited to the VIP event Exclusive Launch L'art & La Matière.
We were told about new collection, the reasons why Guerlain did it, about the new scent Rose Cherie ( I am not impressed by) and the guests were shown unique flacons for sale.

Just to update:

I tried Toi Toi Toi Weds. The opening is wonderful, woody, heady, and serious, but it very quickly moves to what is basically just a skin-close vanilla.

Loved this chat.
So from a young age always wore coco Chanel noir, Chanel mademoiselle, abs Trevor from Lancôme.but this year and 2 years ago added a few more to my collection.
I do love a rose kind of scent. Vetiver. So here is what I have been wearing

Hi all, Newbie to this thread because I’m new to the world of high-end perfume I ordered samples and a white flower collection from Frederic Malle this summer and fall and I’m now enthralled by the art of perfume.

My current favorite is Portrait of a Lady but it sure didn’t start out that way. It was my least favorite due to the patchouli and incense overwhelming my nose. Over time, however, I started to smell other notes until now the perfume smells quite balanced to me in terms of patchouli and incense.

I also love Fleur de Cassie although I find I have Better luck with that scent in the summer than winter. Carnal flower is also a favorite even though I actually hate tuberose (or at least what Ive smelled of it in other perfumes). The green notes catch and hold the scent just before it turns to grape jelly for me. Eau du Magnolia, En Passant are also favorites.

Has anyone tried Promise or The moon? I’m intrigued by their scent profiles.

Happy to see you on this Tread, K! :ghi5: Welcome to the world of high-end perfume! The only FM scent I've sampled is Carnal Flower.

Hello, and welcome! I love some of the ones you mentioned -- Une Fleur de Cassie, Carnal Flower and Portrait of a Lady. I also enjoy Lys Mediterranee (lilies with a hint of ocean breeze) and L'Eau d'Hiver (soft and dreamy, with heliotrope).

I have not tried either Promise or The Moon. Both of them are from the Desert Gems collection. Good luck with sampling and keep us posted should you end up trying those fragrances.

@Cams, I had Tresor body lotion and it was simply wonderful, smelled lovely and was pretty potent for a lotion -- the scent lingered for days on clothing like scarves and sweaters.

Thanks! I like Lys Mediterranee too. It’s such a beautiful scent for summer. I am finding the small sizes so helpful in terms of being able to live with a scent long enough to know if you want a larger bottle. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I’m a relatively new chorister.
