Yes it’s still mixed some claim you can still get a hotel appointment
My understanding is that officially Hermes doesn’t accept appointments from hotels anymore. It’s just since concierge used to arrange those appointments so much that some become friends with Hermes workers. So if a concierge has a contact of manager or a friend working at Hermes, they probably could help if they want and decide to do so. But it’s not something that any concierge can do.

I've also been told by hotels that appointments via their concierge is simply not possible anymore. If you've heard it might be possible, why not ask your hotel concierge?
Agree! Also, to add to this, I will share that I have a very dear friend who is a VIP at FSH and the last time she was able to secure an appointment through a hotel concierge was about three years ago. Since then, she has not been able to do so.

I’ve been told by several clef d’or concierges and by my H charge de clientele SA that Hermes no longer accepts hotel concierge appts for leather. (When hotel appts were accepted, I assume hotels like La reserve; the Bristol; plaza Athenee; the Crillon etc, might have been prioritized over luxury chains)

Just before Hermes stopped accepting appts, around April 2022, the number of accepted appts had dwindled to 4 per day, (I don’t recall if this was per boutique or not). It was strongly implied that with increased demand, one had to be a strong repeat client of the hotel and a high net worth individual with growth potential (not necessarily one time spend) as an Hermes client.

In addition , further vetting would have been done by both the hotel and Hermes client services) Of course, spots via a concierges personal connections may be subject to far different rules :) At any rate, this is simply what I’ve been told ; ymmv

If she's a VIP at FSH, why does she need the hotel's help?
She’s been wondering the same thing. She’s been shipping at FSH for over 15 years across all metiers. Her original SA left and ever since that she has been unable to secure any kind of consistent connection with an SA or be given any kind of advance appointment opportunities. And when she does try to reach out to the sales people that have helped her in the past, none of them are receptive. She’s a lovely person and I know it’s not her. I think these practices have drastically changed over the years and so it is not what it used to be.

Right. So then she is not a "VIP"...

I have to emoji laugh sometimes bc these are after all simply bags. In H subforum, members sometimes describe clients of long tenure or high spend as VIPs. Others simply use a bag offer metric. And, among those of us lucky enough to get bag offers, a VIP would be someone who gets increasingly better or more offers and preferential treatment … while I’m not @hbr , the term VIP seems to be a an increasingly higher moving target lol
