Hi everyone, I'll be going to Paris for 3 days soon. I'm looking at getting a Calvi Duo and a pair of Orans, both in a specific colour. I was wondering if I should bother going into store to look for these, or just buy them online and pick it up in store? Not sure if I can still get TRS for them in that case? I do hope to go in and browse if possible, but trying to avoid headaches as well. Any help or advice will be really appreciated! Thank you :)

I was in Paris for 4 days last week and was able to visit FSH and Sevres. FSH was as usual very busy. Tried to ask for a walk-in appt but was immediately shut down by the lady at the leather desk.

Sevres was less busy. Got a pair of Chypre. Tried asking for cancellation at around 11:30am but was told no and to come back again in the afternoon (on a Friday). Came back at around 5pm but the store was busy and the desk had a short line so I didnt even bother anymore.

Was really just trying for a Picotin18 but was told even for that I would need an appointment.
May I ask what time you initially tried the desk?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been in Paris for a week and leaving tomorrow. I wanted to share my experience as I have loved reading everyone else’s story as it was my first time shopping Hermes in Paris.

First day I went to FSH and bought two shoes and a scarf. Asked for any leather cancellations towards the end and they said to keep applying for an online appointment.

Second day I went to George V and purchased a jacket and another scarf. Towards the end, I asked my SA if there were any leather appointment cancellations and he asked what I was looking for and I mentioned picotin, bolide, or garden party. He said he’ll check with the leather department and came back saying he thinks he can get me a picotin. He introduced me to a leather appointment SA and she asked what I was looking for and again I said “picotin, bolide, garden party but my dream bag would be a B25 gold.” She said no quota bags but offered me a picotin 22 black GHW which I gladly accepted.

Fifth day I went in around 4pm to Sèvres and asked for any appointment cancellations and they said no. Then I went to George V and asked again and they said no cancellations but keep trying. Then around 8pm I received an email saying my appointment is confirmed for tomorrow at 2:45! Unfortunately we have to leave for the airport at that time so I’m planning on going to the store first thing when they open and explain my situation.

I will post an update on how things go as my goal is to be offered a quota bag.

Here are a few takeaways from my experience:

Most everyone at all the locations were super friendly. Every time I went in to ask for an appointment, I dressed nicely with Hermes pieces and was very polite.

FSH was busier and I had different SAs for different departments so it was harder to create a rapport with them.

The SA I had at George V was super friendly as well as the gentleman at the leather desk. He told me to keep trying and that “all the stars have to be aligned.” One SA helped me with the different departments unlike FSH.

I did notice at FSH and George V, the people at the desk “scanned me” from head to toe as I was approaching them. So I think what you wear definitely matters.

Please wish me luck tomorrow and I’ll post an update!
Sooo, what did you get ? :)

I was in Paris 3 nights and 4 days last week, no luck for walk ins or lottery… I had signed up for lottery prior to arriving in Paris but while I was in neighboring European countries… all rejections for both me and my husband :( probably tried the lottery 7-8x each and then spent about $2700 at fsh too. Got a Constance slim at least which I’m excited about!

Most of the leather desk people said we can try back later on, but there was only one that flat out said no and it wouldn’t be possible to get a walk in appt.

Thanks very helpful - did you spend the 2700 all with one SA?

Sooo, what did you get ?
Unfortunately no quota bag :(

I went first thing in the morning and told them my situation and they accommodated my appointment. The leather appointment SA was very nice and helpful. I knew right away that I wasn’t going to get a QB because they didn’t take me to the “secret” room. The lady ahead of me had a leather appointment too and I knew she was getting a quota bag because she “magically disappeared.” I also saw another couple going up the elevator that the SA’s were using so I knew other people were getting quota bags. It was on a Saturday and my SA told me they got a shipment of boxes in the morning but no Birkins or Kelly’s. So I translated that to no Birkins or Kelly’s for ME! Haha anyway, he was nice enough to show me a mini Lindy in Craie and mini bolide in orange which I passed on. I ended up getting another Picotin for my friend who really wanted one. I’m just glad I got an actual appointment. Maybe next time in Paris, I’ll get lucky again!
