I got a walk in at Sevres but they said no QBs up front, and I got a lottery appointment there in February during which I was asked about K/B preferences but they didn't end up having anything for me (although I was looking for something pretty specific). I think it's just hit or miss. It's worth trying but you really can't get your hopes up. Apparently if for lottery you select "no preference" your chances are higher but you're also likely to get an appointment at Sevres or George V, which probably have less of a selection than FSH. After my experiences, although I prefer the staff at SA, I feel like I have to try to FSH only because I want a specific bag and am not that open to other colors/leathers/etc. Planning to try again in April although because I can't help myself haha

It doesn’t. The requirement is not “necessary” but rather for “legitimate” purposes. So long as they are stating what that is/how they are processing the data (which they likely do in the hyperlinked terms) and you provide consent by checking the box and submitting your request, they are meeting their obligations.

I’m sure they have some method to the madness behind the lottery, but they are probably primarily using the passport info as a way to identify an individual tied to an entry and limit multiple entries as others have suggested.

Agree, and I will add that Hermès is bound by EU sanctions and is required to screen for sanctioned persons and their associates. There are also anti-money laundering and anti-corruption requirements for which passport info could be relevant, given the role of luxury goods in such cases.

Does anyone know how often you are allowed a leather appointment? I managed to score one for George V via the lottery system. Was not offered any B/Ks but was offered a Picotin.

I asked if it was possible for a leather appointment for a few days time but was told I already had one once this month. Is it on a month by month basis or a date by month basis .e if the appointment was on 11 March you can’t obtain another until 11 April or could you technical obtain one on 1 April.

I had a great experience in FSH. Was also not too crowded as it was a Monday!

Since it’s Hermes, I suggest that there arent any actual rules. If you’re getting appointments via the lottery there’s no harm in continuing to try every day regardless. If you’re trying for walk in appointments, I’d give it a rest until at least May. Basically the employee was trying to turn you away for a while so other people could have a chance as well (seems fair to me).

Seems like it’s step one in combating resellers (or at least of manipulating things such that the resale market stays as high priced as possible). When the only way to get bags is by prespending 2-5x, reselling for 2x doesn’t seem as savvy. I do feel like we are seeing much better success for Paris clients though, who have a relationship and regularly spend (akin to the rest of the world).
