I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

That description definitely accords with my own experience and various comments in the thread. But that would suggest an assessed walk-in might be less likely to be told “no B/K” since more may be known about that client, whereas the summary posted by @880 also accords with my experience. The only rule is there is no rule…

People may complain, but I’d be willing to bet that there’s almost nobody on this board who would actually enjoy the experience of being told “no bags for YOU” and with good reason - personally I would be much happier to be given the generalized fiction that there are no bags!
I think ‘the only rule is there is no rule’ nails it. We’d all like to think that if we do X or say Y or whatever, we’ll be offered the bag of our dreams (at a lottery appointment or as a walk in) but I think there are just too many variables most of which are out of our control.

I’ve made my appointments several months in advance.
And I get mine weeks in advanced coz I’m literally a 1hr flight away from Paris.

My sense is that there is no fixed rule book when it comes to Paris SA and Paris H. There was a previous post on the alleged rules of 6 months wait, xx number of appt per season and x number of QBs. Based on my experience, all those didn’t apply. In the last 8 months I’ve seen my SA 3x and shes offered x number of QBs.

Of course, I must admit that I’m very blessed to have found my leather SA. Before that, i was also a “lost child” whenever I visited Paris. This is something I’m extremely grateful for. For those who are wondering, I met my SA serendipitously in Paris. Again, there is no fixed formula on how you land a fixed SA.

Wishing those who are visiting Paris or will be visiting the bestest of luck!! With or without a QB, enjoy the sights, sound, food & great displays and options in the H boutiques.

Haha Hi 5! We serendipitously commented that there’s no fixed rule at the same time! I literally pressed post reply and saw your post.

In Paris now and got a leather appointment by just walking in (not going for B/K/C). No sob/celebration story, just said I am a regular client in NYC and looking to buy a few pieces I couldn’t get in US (a scarf and a belt). I then asked to try on a Halzan and they sent me to the leather desk. Was told to wait, and I was presented with a stunning Halzan. (I think it helped that I was pretty specific and said I’d reject anything with gold hardware and a few colors. The SA said he prefers when people have a set style.) I was then presented with a verso Halzan which I was unsure on until I tried on but fell in love with. Didn’t think I’d get this lucky on my first visit to a Hermes store in Paris!

The SA didn’t give me his card, but he told me to keep him in mind in the future? Guess I’ll try asking for him in future Paris visits?

Can we see pictures of your Halzan! This sounds like such a wonderful time, congrats!!

Congrats, @Almondcroissant! Halzan is quite possibly my favorite H bag, it’s so versatile. What size/color combo did you get?

Thank you!! I don’t have a great picture, but will try to get one later. It is a Halzan 25 in Vert Comics / Bleu Zephyr - I never imagined myself with such a bright green but the second I tried it on, it looked so natural with my usual clothing color palette (black, gray, and pink). I didn’t ask for a verso (but secretly hoped for one haha)

For those who shop at the FSH: How do you develop a relationship with an SA in the leather department? When I got bags (i.e., 1 QB and 1 non-QB) offered at the FSH in my last visit, the leather SA helped me a lot and she was so friendly. She also gave me her contact info (email only). After getting the bags offered, I was going to buy other items, but that leather SA forwarded me to SAs in different departments to continue shopping. I found it a bit perplexing because in my home store in NYC, I only have one SA who handles all items across different departments.

Does this mean I actually don't have an SA firmly established yet at the FSH? If I want another leather appt (like in September of this year), should I just reach out to that leather SA before my travel (e.g., a month or two prior to my next visit)? I am hoping to make FSH as my second home store. (The primary one will be the one in NYC.) Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

100% agree

@noonib , there was a post last year about someone who spent 80K EU in one shopping trip who did not get a QB.
to be safe, only buy what you would buy normally in case a bag is not offered. The conventional wisdom on this thread, as far as I recall, is that it is safer from a QB point of view to make large purchases at your local store. (One would ostensibly get prespend ‘credit’ with a home SA). Paris SAs have told me, and I believe them, that they are not under commission, and individual purchases should only be ones you love
