@jk79906 and @missrxx posted some great anecdotes.

Hello everyone. For those that are interested, I have posted a similar story here that I'd like to share, detailing my experiences of my Paris trip I just returned from. It was truly magical and heartwarming. The Hermès part of the trip exceeded all my expectations and eased all of my fears about the experience. Thanks for all your support and advice!

I feel like I hit the lottery! :hbeat:

Wow. That is so amazing! Just curious - you’re from the US? And they let you place a SO? So would they ship it to you or would you have to return to Paris to pick up? I am never been offered a SO so not sure how that goes. I was lucky enough to get a walk-in (after my husband asked) and got offered a B30 in Feb 2022 at FSH store. Not much luck after that trip sadly. Going in Oct and hoping to be offered a K25 or C18/24.

I was able to place a special order as well two weeks ago in Paris. I live in the US. They won’t ship the bag, you have 1-2 month window to pick up the bag in Paris after they notify you that it’s ready.

Yes I am from the US.

And yes that's correct...you will have to return to Paris to pick it up once they notify you that it's ready.

Another success story here. Just returned from 2 days in Paris from the UK. Been trying for months to get an appointment with no such luck. Went to FSH yesterday to buy a cashmere shawl (no purchase history in Paris prior to this) and casually asked if there were any cancellations. The lady on the desk was quite reserved and didn’t smile at all. Turned me down flat and told me how rare it is that an appointment opens up due to a cancellation. Left there feeling a little deflated but I didn’t really expect much to be honest.

Today, I decided to go to Sevres to try my luck before flying home this evening (arrived there about 11:30am). First impressions of the boutique were positive. The store is beautiful and I found myself simply wandering around it for 15 minutes in awe of the building. It was relatively busy but not overwhelmingly so and the staff were very friendly and welcoming so I was immediately put at ease (in comparison to FSH where I kind of felt uncomfortable). I went up to the appointment desk and explained that I’ve been trying to get an appointment for months but have not yet been successful and wondered if there was a chance of seeing a leather specialist today. The lady on the desk was very friendly and after checking with her colleagues, asked me to take a seat and that her colleague would come and see me straight away. My assigned SA was super friendly and asked me what I was after. I asked for a K28 in a neutral colour with gold hardware and in Togo leather and that is exactly what he delivered!! He offered me one in Etoupe which is simply stunning and I picked out a twilly that complimented it perfectly. Whilst rare (I know I was incredibly lucky), miracles do happen in Paris ❤️❤️❤️

Congratulations on your beauty, and your experience sounds very similar to mine. It's good to know that we have similar sentiments of the uncomfortableness of FSH and the peacefulness of Sevres, especially the bolded parts. I am so happy for you!!!

I Will be very close to the Sevré store when I stay in Paris next month. I hope I have the same luck as you ladies!!

Lol maybe this belongs in the Unpopular Opinions thread, but I had the opposite experience - my first experiences were better at FSH vs Sèvres! My first visit to FSH, before any purchase history or relationship with any SA, I met a very nice belt SA (who tried, though unsuccessfully, to get me a leather appt) and a very sweet shoe SA who told me her favorite clients were American (I was surprised to hear that!!) because we’re always so friendly. The same trip I also visited Sèvres and I was just lost there. It took a long time for someone to assist me and no one really seemed interested. The cashier was flustered when I was checking out and it just wasn’t a great experience. This last trip, I met a random homeware SA at FSH while I was waiting for my leather appt, and ordered a couple of teacups with her, not a big order at all. When I came home, I received in the mail from Paris a very nice handwritten note from her, a catalog of the Soleil line, and the Maison book, which I thought was very thoughtful and sweet. Anyways I guess this just goes to show everyone’s experiences vary and it’s luck of the draw. But I do agree- Paris H can be magical! :flowers:

Same!! I think it’s totally hit or miss depending on the sa.. my first visit to sevres - it was not busy at all, but the SAs were just chatting amongst themselves and did not seem to want to help anyone. The leather SA I was assigned was keen on not offering me a bag and claimed they were out of all bolides, roulis, and herbags even lol. By contrast, my FSH leather SA was so sweet and spent almost 30 mins trying to locate a pair of earrings I wanted because inventory showed 2 but they couldn’t find it somehow.

Good luck to everyone, but I think it’s worth trying to check out each of the stores if you can as they are all quite different and you never know which may click for you!
