I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

Leaving for Paris in one week. I have an appointment with our lovely SA we met last October 2022 on the 2nd day we arrive. Still planning to apply for leather appointment everyday. We have five passports so hopefully we will be lucky enough to get an appointment. For those who have an SA in Paris and made an appointment, have you been lucky to also get a bag without a separate leather appointment? Will update you all after our trip!
Sorry but may I ask why you need to apply online for extra slots if you already have your own appointment? Your SA is already sparing you the stress and hassle of trying for another random slot, with the huge numbers of other applicants, especially in summer.

I wasn’t sure if my appointment meant that she can offer me a bag. I guess I will just wait and see. Thank you.

Yes, when I make an appt, my SA can handle leather. Apparently, not all SAs can do this, but it cannot hurt to ask when you are there in person. (I’m mainly a RTW client).

@bichdreams , Bristol is close to FSH. The Four Seasons is a bit further, as is the Bulgari. The Bulgari is my favorite hotel, and once you stay there a few times, it becomes like a home away from home.

@FrenchNewbie, yes they are stringent. I tagged you in the customs thread, for a more detailed response re your query below.

I’ll be in Paris in October and surely will visit the Hermes store. Any recommendations for a hotel near the FSH?
In addition to the Bristol. Four Seasons, as well as the Bulgari Hotel suggested by @880,
there is also The Crillion, Le Cheval Blanc, Plaza Athenee, Castille, & there are other hotels that are charming
but are located on the Left Bank.. little bit of a stroll but you can walk through the Tuileries
as well as other hotels on the Right Bank but are not so close to FSH..
** Other suggestions depending upon your budget**

Wanted to post my recent experience.
Arrived in Paris this past Saturday and had no luck in Fabourg store with an appointment. The guy at the appointment desk was very rude and condescending I actually left my purchases and walked out.

I immediately headed to another boutique where I met a sweet lady and choose some jewellery items that I am unable to get here in London.
I mentioned to her I’d like a Picotin to try my luck with a humble bag option as I was due to leave the next day ( Sunday ) so I thought it might be achievable.
I instead managed to get a leather appointment for Monday ( today ) so I choose to extend my trip until today.

Today 10.30 am I arrived to my appointment excited hoping I could finally get a birkin.
The SA who was assigned to me hardly said hello and immediately said to me ‘You’re here for an Picotin yes? ‘ I said ‘No I would like an birkin’ so she went to ask permission if she could sell me one.

She returned and asked me ‘which style birkin would you like.’
I mentioned my preference and she went to the stock room.

After 5 minutes she returned and said ‘No birkins’ I said okay could you check for a Kelly? Kelly she came back after 10 mins ‘ No kelly bags we haven’t received a delivery ’

So I said okay sure I would like a Picotin then she finally returned with a box and offered me a Picotin.
She didn’t seem to show me any kind of emotion, it was almost as if I was bothering her.

It seems as if she had in her mind from the beginning that a Picotin was the only bag she was going to offer me.

( The lady who served me on Saturday did mention that lottery winners get the priority bags, Birkin, Kelly, Constance rather than people who manage to fix an appointment as I did )

Just a note this is my first time buying Hermes in Paris and your UK profile is not linked to the Paris profile. So you have to start a whole new purchase profile.
Saturday where I spent 4k euro and then today another 4k euro again.

I’m not sure if I should be happy or sad that I spent this much and extended my trip to leave with a Picotin?

It is a beautiful Rose Texas 18 PHW and it’s been a good start to build my profile but I already have 5 Picotin’s.

Also note other people who arrived for their appointments were asking for Kelly’s and were offered her bags and Evelyne’s. There is a French holiday commencing tomorrow so that might be why that store didn’t have much stock.
Although, after purchasing my Picotin I took an Uber and went back to the Fabourg store where I met a nice SA and purchased a few RTW items.

I did see quite a few ladies being offered Birkins Lindys and Kelly’s there and by the looks of it they had an appointment from their SA not via lottery.

You asked for a Picotin and got a Picotin, all without winning the leather appointment lottery. Seems like a win to me. Not sure why you expected a quota bag.

Why would I not ?
I was told I could ask for any bag and from the previous posts on this blog many ladies have asked for a quota bag without an appointment and walked out with one.

Sure, ask for whatever you want but don’t expect it when you were given a non-lottery based appointment because you told the SA you only wanted a Picotin. Clearly they put notes into the system.

So can someone explain how people manage to get a quota bag without winning the lottery? As I see it often with influencers they obtain an appointment via their hotel or randomly get lucky in store.
